About this mod Machine translation

Added bound weapons for missing vanilla weapon types and made slight adjustments to bound weapon balancing for consistency.

Gruftlord's Bound Weapons Extravaganza is an excellent mod, but I'm not entirely satisfied with how it's implemented. I prefer using the various bound weapon types as their own spells without having to go into the MCM menu to change weapon types. This preference is also partly due to my enjoyment of "know your enemy" through tjhm4 - I want to have spells for various weapon types from my collection menu to combat the added resistance of KYE.

specific changes

Added bound war axes, hammers, greatswords and warhammers - including spell sheets added to appropriate level lists.

Added spell sheet to base game level list for Bound Dagger (from Dragonborn DLC). Without this change, there are only a few places in Solstheim where they can be found.

Rebalanced the Bound Waraxe to be more in line with the balance of other bound weapons (i.e. the base version is equivalent to vanilla Orc and the Mystic Bindine version is equivalent to vanilla Daedric).

Including adjusting the balance from WACCF's big word by binding kryptopyr on the greatsword. It doesn't "require" WACCF, but I won't make a non-"WCCF balanced" version. If you really want to, you can easily change the greatsword's attack speed from 0.8 (WACCF value) to 0.75 (USSEP value) or 0.7 (vanilla value) xEdit.

This mod is completely unscripted.

limit

I know very little about meshes, let alone animation. So I used the same method as the Bound Weapons Extravaganza and removed the fire effect around the new bound weapon (replacing it with an Elemental Wrath effect). I did manage to add appropriate sound effects to a copy of the Elemental Fury effect in NifSkope, so the sound played when the bound weapon is summoned is still valid. I've also included these changes in the vanilla game-bound weapons for consistency (so it's not a case of some weapons having a burning effect and others not).

I would love to have fire effect versions of all weapons. If anyone in the community would like to create/contribute them, I would happily implement them into this mod and give full credit to the creator (you will be added as an author and have full access to the mod page).

compatibility

Any mod that edits term level lists will need a based/breaking patch to resolve conflicts. Mods that alter level lists via in-game scripts (such as Apocalypse) will be compatible without patching.

Otherwise, this mod should be compatible with any other mod that does not change the bound weapon. The new bound weapons are implemented in the same way as vanilla bound weapons, so it will be compatible with mods that change existing perks that affect bound weapons (e.g., Normal), but will require a patch to add new perks that affect bound weapons.

Thanks

Gruftlord that allows me to use his bound weapon mesh as a vanilla weapon

Bound Weapons Extravaganza by Gruftlord is an excellent mod, but I wasn't completely satisfied with how it was implemented. I prefer having access to various bound weapon types as their own spells, instead of having to go into an MCM menu to change weapon types. This preference was also partially motivated by my enjoyment of Know Your Enemy by tjhm4 - I wanted to have spells for various weapon types readily available from my favorites menu to counter the resistances added by KYE.

Specific Changes

Adds bound War Axes, Maces, Greatswords, and Warhammers - includes spell tomes added to appropriate leveled lists.

Adds spell tomes for Bound Dagger (from the Dragonborn DLC) to the base-game leveled lists. Without this change, there's only a few places in Solstheim where you can find them.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
