About this mod Machine translation

SSE port of the Sword of Sigdan quest and dungeon mod.

This MOD needs to work with certain series

describe:

Sigdan's Sword is a compact, knowledge-friendly quest addon for advanced (30+) players. The narrative is conveyed entirely through notes, books, etc., so no dialogue (and therefore no vocalizations) is required.

Install:

Simply install the mod using the Mod Manager of your choice.

plot:

Through reading and/or exploration, players will discover the story of the mythical swordsman Sigdan of yesteryear. With the potential for rewards and adventure, the player can venture into Sigdan's Tomb ("Sigdan's Sorrow"), where he/she will encounter tales of greed, bloodshed, and murder while battling dangerous tomb dwellers.

Balance and rewards:

This is a challenging pursuit for most players, even high-level characters (I tested it heavily on level 78 warriors). However, if you manipulate the "universal trifecta" (smithing, alchemy, and enchantment) to transform your character into a demigod swordsman, it will be a breeze. Other than that, it should test you. I highly recommend packing enough potions, or perhaps a well-equipped companion (almost all environments are fully guarded).

I'll make this clear: don't do this mission until your level is greater than 30 (at least -50 is not recommended). I believe the rewards are commensurate with the challenges, but not unbalanced.

getting Started:

To start the quest, read the Duelist's List (distributed throughout Skyrim - see the readme for the exact location), or just type "Sigdan's Sorrow" to start it. "Sigdan's Sorrow" should be east of Twilight's Tomb, or west of Forres.

Influence:

This add-on adds a relatively small tomb entrance to the entire world and multiple copies of "Duelers" in prominent cells. Other than that, it shouldn't affect gameplay. The quest doesn't start immediately (I took a cue from Bethesda's handling of Dawnguard). Players must start the quest by reading or exploring.

Knowledge:

When players of my Fallout mod can relate, I try to make sure my mod is lore-friendly. I sometimes bend canonical elements but don't break them. If you have doubts about certain elements in my plugin channel, please leave a comment explaining your stance.

In case any Fallout players are wondering, the unusually blasphemous nature of my Fallout add-on does not exist. Sword of Sigdan is more like Sagas than Spaghetti Westerns.

The origin of the plug-in:

This is my fourth quest mod and my first Skyrim addon. I took a break from my current Fallout project and started experimenting with Papyrus. After a month of CK modifications, this is the result.

dialogue:

Sword of Sigdan has no dialogue. Early versions included <50 lines, but glitches with CK's latest update forced me to abandon that feature (it only had two small characters, so it wasn't a big loss).

Ratio/pacing:

Following my last work on Fallout, it wasn't one long multi-tasking adventure. It rivals "Silent Tongue" or "Forbidden Tales" in style and scale. It's clean and fast, taking no more than 30 to 45 minutes depending on how you play it.

feedback:

Due to outside demand, I have limited time for questions and comments. However, I always pay attention to player feedback. I may not respond immediately (or at all), but rest assured that thoughtful, objective comments go into my design. In the past, astute comments from players have been the basis for shaping Quest plugins, and will continue to be so.

Overview/Statistics:

  • Added a new dungeon with three units

-Includes a book and extensive notes

-Includes three new weapons and a new helmet

-Provides approximately 30 minutes of gameplay

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
