2233/5000 This little mod renames the Mountain Flower plant, as well as Red Mountain Flower, Blue Mountain Flower, Purple Mountain Flower and Yellow Mountain Flower.

As an avid alchemist, it always bothers me that the three or four most common alchemical ingredients in Skyrim all have such generic, boring names. Surely the bugs and apothecaries of Skyrim will come up with more evocative names for this ubiquitous flower!

Changes in this mod:

Mountain flowers (plants) to Nordic wildflowers

Red Mountain Flower to the Flame of Ismir

Blue Mountain Flowers in Mara's Eyes

Purple Mountain Flower to Cain's Bounty

Yellow Mountain Flower to Arkay's Lighthouse

From The Botanist's Pocket Guide to Skyrim Travel, Publication No. 120 4E:

"The Fire of Ismir"

Ysmir is one of the many names by which the divine God (Talos) is known, also known as the "Red King". Locals believe that the sacred flame that once set Tamriel on fire still exists in the land of his birth. Also known as the "Atmoran Brush," another allusion to the founding emperor of the Septim dynasty.

"Myra's Eyes"

These beautiful blue wildflowers are also common in Marrakech and are known as the “Madonna’s Eyes” by Marrakech devotees. Due to its restorative properties, it is widely used in therapeutic potions and ointments. It is also traditionally given by young Nords to lovers embarking on long journeys, with the inducement of "don't forget me", thus becoming another common name for the flower.

"Kane's Gift"

Divine Syne is the wife of Shor and goddess of the open sky. Hunters in this untamed province have long sworn by the striking purple flowers as a remedy for exhaustion and frostbite.

“Lighthouse of Arca”

This should be 100% safe to install and uninstall mid-player.

"Ysmir's Flame"

Ysmir is one of the many names of the man-turned-Divine better known as Talos, who was also known as the "Red King". Locals believe that the divine flame that once set Tamriel afire still lives in the land of his birth. Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
