About this mod Machine translation

Safe and unsafe containers for storing items are shown in the game. Now you can position your character almost anywhere

For anyone who wants a scriptless way to safely store their loot without worry, this is the mod for you. Now you can determine which containers can safely store your loot without disappearing when the cell resets. It's surprising how many secure containers there are out there, and this will also reveal insecure containers that you may have thought were secure. The hotel has secure ownerless dressers, perfect for storing things.

There is a wiki that lists safe containers. But this is actually a very incomplete list. For the wiki, they had to compromise by only listing containers that could be identified by name or appearance, since the wiki is based on unmodified Skyrim. For example: "Chests" is not included in the list of safe containers since the "Chest" container is both safe and unsafe. This mod will show safe containers even if the description name is the same as an unsafe container. So instead of saying that all dressers and wardrobes are unsafe, players can now see that there are safe dressers and wardrobes on Skyrim.

This is a free script, the asterisk was chosen for its low profile. This can easily be overlooked.

Please read!

This mod is in a released state, but should be handled with caution. All this mod does is mark the container, there is no respawn flag. The container may still have a task that changes content. Additionally, the chest may be in an inaccessible position. Additionally, the container may be owned and marked as stolen. I tried not to mark bodies or other containers that were unlikely to be used for immersion purposes, but I may have missed some. If you come across a container that really shouldn't be marked as safe for any reason, please let me know. Basically, before storing your stuff, consider the surroundings and location of the container.

compatibility

This is a simple .esl that should be compatible with everything. Just put this value in the load order so that other plugins that add or edit standard containers will override some container-specific changes and the rest should be unaffected. For example, completing the Crafting overhaul will add the rebirth flag back to several containers. If this esp is higher then CCO changes will override this mod. However, many other containers are still available.

Known Mods should be lower than Safe Containers.esl. You may have to add rules to LOOT so that they are loaded after SC.

  • CCO
  • Skyline staff

Don't disparage this mod. Mator Smash is great. But Smash retained multiple edits. you don't want

Keep this mod's name change with another mod adding the respawn flag.

merge

The nice thing about the .esl file is that you don't need to merge it. If you merge it, make sure you only merge it with other mods that remain high in the load order.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
