Because when you have paper, you don't need mana. And a gem or two.

Ever wanted to play as a Paladin? Priest or monk? Perhaps a bard or some other bastard enhanced his combat skills through magic?

Of course, you're not without, as magic is useless unless you dump tons of stats into Magicka and give stipends to spell schools.

Scrolls are the obvious solution to this problem, but getting them in decent quantities is impossible,

Not to mention getting exactly what you need. This mod aims to solve this problem by adding proper scrolling techniques to the game.

What? Is there another "scroll crafting" mod? No one even uses these because the scrolls suck.

Essentially yes. This mod allows you to craft spell scrolls. However, what makes ScrollScribe different from other options is that it allows

You write all your spells on paper! When I say "every", I mean.

Spellscribe does not rely on existing scrolling or the manual conversion of hundreds of modded spells and creation of each patch

modpack (not that no one has time for that).

Instead, we used the power of the SSEEdit script to create a patch that converts all spells in the load order into craftable scrollbars!

If you are new to Tes5Edit scripting: consider using SkyProc, but better.

Well, in theory we could do this, but in practice it's a very bad idea because most of the "spells" aren't really spells for the player

It's possible to learn it the normal way, let alone put it to use. To keep things from going crazy, there are limitations.

Spells that will be converted:

Every spell that can be learned through the Grimoire (also a concentration spell!)

Warning: Some mods add spellbooks that teach utility/debug spells (e.g. AddItemMenu). If you don't want the rolling versions of these spells

To show up, you need to disable these mods before generating the patch.

Leaving them in won't cause any harm, but it will definitely ruin your immersion.

Spells that cannot be converted:

Everything you can’t learn from a spelling book

• Create an elaborate scroll of all learnable spells

-Adapts to your loadout order and is compatible with every spell pack mod

• Crafting needs to know the spell (this is to prevent interesting interactions with certain spells that have mods added)
• Simplified and user-friendly crafting system that filters out unwanted scrolling from menus
• Master scrollbars allow you to take actions when casting them while using them from the left hand (this is a feature not a bug)
• Scrolls of Concentration Spells open new gameplay options, such as allowing the use of Scrolls of Guard allowing dual-wielding characters to fight mages

Use the Scroll Enchanter in Farengar's research (it's just for decoration, let's be honest), or just use the Scroll Crafting feature you're using

All reels require only two ingredients:

xArcane Dust

What is Arcane Dust? This is a new item that is automatically drawn from empty soul gems in your inventory during crafting.

In the same way scrolls will be extracted from burned and destroyed books.

This simplifies the crafting process and eliminates the need to micromanage the Soul Stone and hunt for paper, which is extremely rare.

To avoid misunderstandings, follow these steps: When you start crafting, all empty gems will turn to dust, and books will turn to paper.
