Thank you very much for your support.

Savage Bear Legend Edition

[[[MOD DESCRIPTION]]]

If you were like me and were disappointed with Skyrim's vanilla bears, then this mod is for you. After comparing numerous photos, paintings and sculptures of different bears, and working within the confines of Vanilla Mesh, I softened most of the hard edges of the limbs, reduced the bulge of belly fat, and enlarged the front upper torso and back Vanilla Mesh to give it a more realistic, ferocious and savage look. These are the savage bears I've always wanted to see in a game.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

This mod replaces the vanilla bear's humble mesh (model) with a more realistic, gray and feral bear mesh. This replaces all vanilla bears in the game. This version does not contain any textures, just meshes, so you can use vanilla or your favorite texture mod. All screenshots use my new meshes, either vanilla textures or textures from the "Better Bears" mod from aviform (Legendary Edition).

Savage Bear version 1.1 released!!!

seeing is believing! ! !

Hats off to AiElias and thank you for this great video!

Version 1.1 adds a new custom skeleton that greatly improves the overall proportions and movements of the Vanilla Bears, making them more realistic. These changes include the following,

  • Increase the size of the head and neck
  • Increase limb size
  • Position the limbs underneath the body for a more realistic pose
  • Adjust the hind legs to improve walking animation

These changes really take Vanilla Bear to the next level!

So I'm proud to present to the modding community a true "SAVAGE BEAR" that will terrify the masses!

enjoy your meal! ! !

Savage Bear (Shell Effect) version 2.1 released!!!

Version 2.x officially released custom "shell effect" blur meshes and textures, requiring Vicn's FusaFusa project. If you haven't seen his work I highly recommend it, it's a work of art. This mesh was created from a user suggestion in one of my posts, so I decided to take up the challenge and try to incorporate it into the "Savage Bear" mod. I think it looks great.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

[[[MOD COMPATIBILITY]]]

Version 1.1

Savage Bear uses a custom armature and mesh for the vanilla bear and will override any mod that changes the same files.

Mods that make radical changes to the mesh or skeleton files (such as "Realistic Ragdoll and Force") should be compatible as long as "Savage Bear" is installed after these mods and allows its files to be overwritten.

Should be fully compatible with any texture mod for Vanilla Bear.

(Shell Effect) Version 2.x.

Mods that make radical changes to the mesh or skeleton files (such as "Realistic Ragdoll and Force") should be compatible as long as "Savage Bear" is installed after these mods and allows its files to be overwritten.

Version 2.x is a bear replacement for Vicn's FusaFusa Project mod, which I needed before downloading my mod.

Since I'm not the mod author of FusaFusa, I can't say if it's compatible with any other mods.

You will have to use TESVEdit to create your own bashed patch or patch to be compatible with other mob mods that conflict with the FusaFusa project.

You have been warned!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
