Sanguinaire (Revised Edition - Skyrim Special Edition)

Special thanks to @TheDarkOne 1047 who will be working on this project with me in the future.
Important information:
Like the original Sanguinaire version of Fallout 4, this is a development beta and is subject to change in the future. While I will always try to set up updates to be integrated into an ongoing game running a previous version, this is not a guaranteed possibility and some updates may require a game restart. I've released a beta version to receive feedback and ideas from the community, just like I did with the Fallout 4 version. Many players of my version of Fallout 4 have been patiently awaiting the Skyrim version, and I'm excited to announce the first development beta. This product will not be released on consoles until development is nearly complete.
Future updates:
Future updates will include the addition of the Porphyric Hemophelia strain of Morrowind vampires in Solstheim, as well as the ability to turn NPCs into vampire lords after a harkon is defeated. The above is not yet implemented and will appear in a future development update. I'll be working with @TheDarkOne 1047 on these features.
Functional prerequisites:
Due to the purpose of this module, and its functionality, it is important to ensure that your system is set up correctly to avoid problems. It's worth noting that Blood Ties is an overhaul of the vampire experience, but doesn't affect VL's perk trees, and updates some of Haken's dialogue rules to correctly identify you if you're a hybrid. Sanguinaire does not directly modify NPCs to ensure that unofficial patch changes to them still apply, but the base vampire race has been modified as this is necessary functionality. This mod is designed to give hardcore role players a very specific experience and does not use MCM menus. This is essential for full immersion and I will not be adding MCM menus in the future. Sanguinaire is a sister project to Fallout 4 Bloodlines and can be found here:
(1) Don't play gory games with another vampire Overhaul. This will conflict and break the game.
- Do not play Bloody games with MODS that modify werewolf scripts, because Bloody must use these scripts to achieve mixed functions.
- Prioritize bloodline over dialogue reform so that Haakon's dialogue works correctly with certain functions of the mod.
- Make sure you play Bloody in a brand new save, or when you're not already a vampire/werewolf, to avoid functionality issues.
- It is best not to use MODS to modify the bloody vanilla vampire spells. This may cause functionality issues.
- If you are using an unofficial patch, make sure the bloody loadout takes priority to ensure all vampire mechanics are working properly.
compatibility:
This mod will not be compatible with other mods because Sanguinaire is an overhaul mod that modifies the player-side vampire mechanics. This includes mods that modify vanilla vampire functionality, such as core scripts, hunger system modifications. However, Strigoi is fully compatible with the Vampire perk, and Another Start is the "Live Another Life" mode. Sanguinaire does not modify NPCs directly, but uses quest aliases to apply NPC changes. This means that glorified modernity is compatible with vampires. Sanguinaire is not compatible with mods that modify vanilla vampire powers, for the reason it makes changes to those functions. Sanguinaire is compatible with other mods as long as they do not affect the vampire core script, vanilla vampire's abilities, as long as it takes precedence over a dialogue overhaul to update Harkon's dialogue to correctly identify players as hybrids.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
