Sabretooth attempts to make the Sabrecat an interesting balanced companion. Sabretooth's effectiveness depends on his level and the strength of the relationship with him. As his attachment to you grows, expect him to gain perks and fight harder. Sabretooth is obtained through an early and very brief quest near Riverwood. As your relationship with Sabretooth improves, you'll gain access to three balancing yet game-changing perks along the way. You can command Sabretooth by shouting or through regular dialogue. Features and information
Sabretooth is slightly different than most companion mods. First, Sabretooth gains additional perks and attributes as it grows closer to you. You can increase your connection with Sabretooth through most activities. For example - clear the dungeon, kill the enemy and stay with him only in the game. Just like you keep playing Skyrim, your bonds will increase automatically. If your Bonding Experience exceeds the threshold, you and Sabretooth will receive additional perks the next time you level up.
Partner Bond Level
There are currently four "peer bond levels". Binding levels 2, 3, and 4 result in game-changing perks. The purpose of these perks (and the mod as a whole) is to spice up the game in some fun ways that don't require the player to equip a spell. In addition, bonuses should not just passively grind you, but also require some awareness, reaction and decision-making ability from the player. I personally don't like minion mods that just add a layer of meat shields to the table. Sabretooth is weak in damage and tanking attacks, but in return he adds some interesting combat tools. These are three perks you can get after reaching a certain relationship level:
Companion Bond Level 1 - The bond between you and Sabretooth has improved. The saber-toothed snakes fought more intensely and grew larger.
Companion Bond Level 2 - The bond between you and Sabretooth increases even further. When Sabretooth bleeds, you will enter a rage state. Anger can be recognized by your red hands and loud heartbeat. Lasts for 10 seconds, increasing your attack speed and destruction damage by 15%. 90 seconds cooldown.
Companion Bond Level 3 - You and Sabretooth are now close friends. Sabretooth will now violently kill your attacker when you're about to die. He needs to be relatively close to the attacker and cannot knock the enemy back while bleeding. The strength of the knockback depends on Sabretooth's base health, relative to the attacker's base health. Some enemies are immune to knockback. The cooldown of this effect is 90 seconds.
Companion Key Level 4 - You and Sabretooth are now inseparable companions. Killing enemies while on a rampage will now refresh you and Sabretooth. Sabretooth will instantly regenerate to 40% of its maximum health, and you will gain 40% of maximum mana and maximum stamina. Each rage can only occur once. As a reminder, when Sabretooth bleeds, Fury will appear, lasting 10 seconds and having a cooldown of 90 seconds. Additionally, Sabretooth's knockback is now stronger and has a 60 second cooldown.
Customizable textures
Sabretooth has access to a few different textures. You can switch between textures simply through his dialogue. Currently there are tiger textures, panther textures, snowy textures, and of course the default Sabrecat texture!
Zoom ratio
Sabretooth's damage, health, and size scale in two ways. First, they all scale with player level. Secondly, companionship also has …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
