v.1.0.1 uploaded to correct file structure. If you downloaded v.1.0.0 and manually corrected the file structure, there is no reason to download this version.

Overview

This is a Whiterun texture mod that improves the quality of the diffuse files in the texture/architecture/whiterun folder without reducing the cost. Whiterun is both a province (a province) and a city, so you can find my textures in and around the city. This mod achieves this through color correction, contrast correction, and advanced sharpening techniques. If you can run Skyrim SSE, you can run this mod. [See comparison images below]

emphasize

·There is no cost module. In terms of file size, this mod compares 1:1 to vanilla Skyrim. In other words, this mod will not negatively impact performance. If you can run Skyrim SSE, you can run this mod. Great for mods

Looking to improve the visuals of their games at virtually no cost to performance

·Improved 84 texture files in the Whiterun texture folder. These textures include: doors, stone walls, wooden floors, tiles, furs, carpets, decorative shields, roof tiles, lattice support beams, drawbridges, Whiterun trees, and everything in between.

·I manually edited 84 files in this mod. No blind, automatic and/or batch processing of texture files here.

future plans

·I plan to release mods for other cities. I haven't decided on the order yet. I don't have a timetable either. Manually editing all the diffuse maps in each city texture folder is a time-consuming task

To say the least.

· Classic Skyrim. At this time, I have no plans to release this mod for Classic Skyrim. While I have experience converting classic Skyrim texture files to SSE, I have no experience converting SSE textures to

Classic Skyrim. From my understanding, Classic requires a different type of compression that is not available in my current workflow. If you are interested in converting this mod to Classic, please message me on .

Compatibility/load order

·While this mod is not compatible with any mod that changes the diffuse files in the texture/architecture/whiterun folder, you can still use this mod with other incompatible mods. A generation

It is recommended to place the texture mod that changes the most texture files at the top of the load order. Then put my mod under that mod. Then put any mods that make specific but limited changes to Whiterun under my mod.

Example loading order:

<Mod that changes all skyrim textures>

<Ryan’s Whiterun>

<mod changes Whiterun's banner>

Incompatible with JK's Skyrim

troubleshooting

  • If you have any issues with this mod, please put it under Other Texture Modes in Loadout

order.

  • If the first step does not solve your problem, please reinstall this mod.
  • If neither step one nor step two fix your problem, please take a screenshot and post it in the comments and I'll see if I can help you.

Overview

This is a Whiterun texture mod that improves the quality of the diffuse files located in the textures/architecture/whiterun folder at no cost-to-performance. Whiterun is both a hold (a province) and a city, thus you'll find my textures both inside and outside the city. This mod achieves this through color correction, contrast correction, and advanced sharpening techniques. If you can run Skyrim SSE, you can run this mod. [see below for comparison images]

Highlights

·        No cost mod. In terms of file size, this mod is 1:1 with vanilla Skyrim. In other words, this mod will not negatively effect performance. If you can run Skyrim SSE, you can run this mod. Ideal for modders

looking for improving the visuals of their game at little-to-no-cost to performance

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
