The wrong file was initially available for download. The correct file has been uploaded and is available for download. The file available for download is my Whiterun mod, but called Ryan's Shrines. I'm still scratching my head here as to what this is all about. If you downloaded version 1.0.0 (which only a few people do), delete it and download version 1.0.1. The correct file size is approximately 37mb.

This mode brings Skyrim and its shrines of art from darkness into light. Like the shrine itself, Vanilla Shrine's artwork is largely lost in darkness and low resolution. this mod

Increased shrine resolution from 512 to 1K, restored original artwork, and illuminated each shrine.

detail

Carefully hand-edited diffuse map, custom normal map and custom mesh. Resolution increased from 512 to 1024K.

performance

Carefully designed for performance: All maps are 1K and heavily compressed, except for the uncompressed normal map. Should fit most PCs. At this time, I have no intention of uploading a faster/lighter version or a 2K+ version of this mod. However, I will consider doing so based on feedback.

compatibility

  • This mod is completely incompatible with any mod that changes any shrine grid

texture.

  • This modis is not compatible with any big texture overhaul/optimization mods that can change clutter files (such as SMIM, Ruins Clutter Improved, etc.). However, this mod will work if you place this mod underneath them (i.e. if this mod covers them). To be safe, place this mod below any large

Texture overhaul mods are there.

Install

Install using Mod Organizer 2 or Mod Manager (or Vortex when released). Do not install directly into the Data folder.

Load order

Placing this mod below any other texture mode may make changes to clutter files (i.e. shrines) under unusual circumstances.

troubleshooting

If you have any issues with my shrine textures, please put this mod at the bottom of your load order.

Update

The wrong file was initially made available for download. The correct file has been uploaded and is available to download. This mod brings the shrines of Skyrim and their artwork out of the darkness and into the light. The artwork of vanilla shrines, like the shrines themselves, are largely lost to darkness and to low-resolution. This mod

increases the resolution of shrines from 512 to 1K, restores the original artwork, and lights each shrine.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
