Completely eliminate the rewards for destroying the Dark Brotherhood by adding a new unique version of the Penitus Oculatus armor and a handwritten letter from the Emperor himself.
describe
Does it feel weird to you now that you're done with the Dark Brotherhood? The members of this organization are vague and have been lurking in the shadows of the Empire for a thousand years (most records indicate that the organization was founded long before 2E 358 in 1E). Does the Empire see fit to reward them with a one-time reward of 3000 gold coins? One might assume that their coffers have been emptied by successive successors, but wonder why this appears to be just a bounty settlement. Also, from a gameplay perspective, isn't it really disappointing that the alternative to siding outside of the Dark Brotherhood is simply the chance to kill everyone for some kind of gold?
I don't really have the time or resources to put this questline into the state it deserves, but I can offer a minor improvement that makes sense both from a lore perspective and gameplay. It bothers me that the only real way to obtain the Penitus Oculatus armor is to murder one of its members. What if you want to play a covert character loyal to the Empire? Even if you achieve it through some obscure ancient ritual, it still drops off at an alarming rate, making it barely comparable to Imperial Light Armor in terms of stats. With these two wishes in mind, I made this little model to alleviate some of the disappointment of "Destroy the Dark Brotherhood." It increases the gold reward to 4000, adds a letter from the Emperor himself explaining why the reward isn't higher, and comes with a set of enchanted Penitus Oculatus armor with better stats, custom enchantments (from Summermyst), and is legend friendly.
Now you can be an Imperial spy if you so choose, or a legitimate assassin...or even just a killer with the appropriate rewards.
feature
Actual rewards for eliminating the Dark Brotherhood.
Customized Penitus Oculatus set with alluring enchantment, a true champion of the Emperor.
A letter from the Emperor himself, Titus Mede II, explaining why your name will not be repeated in every corner of Cyrodiil.
The set included is called the Emperor's Eye, and while it's not statistically the strongest armor, its unique enchantments should make it a worthy choice for stealth characters. Sadly I didn't have time to make any custom textures, but Bethesda's 2K textures look great. See screenshot for details.

Description
Did it ever strike you as odd that after you have finished vanquishing the Dark Brotherhood, an organisation whose murky members have lurked in the shadows of the Empire for over a millennia (with most accounts indicating it was already founded by 2E 358, 1172 years before the Stormcloak Rebellion) the Empire sees fit to reward you with a lump sum of 3000 gold? One might assume that their coffers are somewhat emptied by the successive and yet wonder why this seems like little more than the settlement of a bounty. Besides, from a gameplay perspective, isn't it incredibly disappointing that the alternative to siding with the Dark Brotherhood is merely a chance to kill them all for some coin?
I don't really have the time or resources to put this quest line into the state it should be in, but I can offer a minor improvement that makes sense from both a lore-perspective, and one of gameplay. It was bothering me that the only real way to attain the Penitus Oculatus Armor is to murder one of their members; what if one desired to play a stealthy character that remained loyal to the Empire? Even if you were to attain it through some obscure daedric ritual, it would still fall off incredibly …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
