A new beginning as the powerful and terrifying Dread Knight!

Welcome to the ROLEPLAY series. These mods are simply saved games intended for players who want a unique experience starting from scratch. In a sense, it's a bit like an alternate life mode, except you start with a character with a specific play style and role-playing aspect!

NOTE: This is not a powerful version! While I recommend playing the game on a higher difficulty, this will still present a challenge for many players, especially if you use mods that add more enemies and/or make the game more challenging and interesting!

Backstory

It has been hundreds of years since the Dread Knights learned about the mortal world. Since his conception, the Dread Knight has been bound to the Plains of Destruction by the jealous Prince Dadric. He was born invulnerable to power - a greed that festered within him. He believed that the epitome of power was to become Prince Dadric himself. He clearly knows that in order to achieve his goals, he will need to overthrow one of the princes and replace them. During the age of the Dread Knights' greatest power, Sheogorath himself, fearing the Horrors' defeat, banished the Dread Knights to the mortal world. The Mad Prince knows nothing of this, and the Dread Knight has a plan.

In the years before their banishment, the Dread Knights sought new powers beyond the confines of Oblivion. It was the dawn of the Dragonborn era, and the Dread Knights began to envy the great power the Dragonborn possessed. He was also fascinated by gold. In his observation of the mortal world, the most powerful people were also the richest. Knowing that banishment was imminent, the Dread Knight prepared a ritual to permanently transport his soul to mortal form. Once banished, he can transform himself into a Dark Elf and has the ability to capture the souls of dragons to increase his power. This ability would allow the Dread Knight to emulate a dragon in the Skyrim region, with the real dragon never knowing his or her true abilities.

Life on the Forgotten Plains is very different from life in the fields of Tamriel. The Dread Knight brings nearly all of his semblance to the mortal world. With his jealous rage, pathological fascination with power and ruthlessness towards him. Any chance of gaining money and power is worth the risk to the Dread Knights. In his struggle for respect and honor among mortals, he often finds interactions difficult due to his instinctive rage that destroys him. That's right, winning in battle fills him with such ecstasy that he develops a habit of raising his resurrected minions to death, only to kill them twice!

In their frantic quest for power, the Dread Knights are desperate to establish their own power and fame at any cost. To do this, he may join the Imperial Army in hopes of assassinating the Queen and replacing her. Alternatively, he could join the Stormcloaks and take over Skyrim to his name. The Daedric morals of the Dark Brotherhood make the Dread Knight feel at home again, and lu …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
