Roaring Follower - 'Reeky'

Reeky is a custom voiced follower with over 120 lines of dialogue and unique dialogue scenes. A little blue friend travels Skyrim with you :) You can find him in the newly added "Riekling Shack" east of Windhelm. He lives there.

I'm telling you, Reeky, Reekling's follower :)

He lives there and will return there when he is fired. Ask him about it :)

Reeky has over 100 lines of dialogue, all customized using the Dragonborn DLC's riekling voice files.

I edited the voice files myself and made new combinations and even managed to get some new vocabulary ;)

Reeky also had some conversations with players!

When the conditions to start a conversation are met, you'll see the "What's on your mind?" option.

Then Reeky will tell you what he's thinking. Most conversations are very specific with conditions, so you have to look for them. Take him around the city and see what he has to say :)

There are currently no choices or branching dialogue.

Reeky will fight using the vanilla riekling melee combat style and will speak some unique dialogue based on enemy type.

He will carry your burdens and help you in battle.

He will also comment on his surroundings when conditions are met.

Reeky is by no means packed with features or anything like that.

He's almost a vanilla minion with more dialogue.

Don't expect anything like Inigo or Lucien :)

Install

• Download and install using your preferred mod manager.
• Load the save and then make a new save. Keep old backups just in case.
• Reload the new save (to avoid the "he's not talking to me" error).

Either

• Put the .esp and .bsa into the Data folder (seriously, use a mod manager to modify them).

(This plugin requires "Dragonborn.esm")

2 and 3 should be the same as above.

uninstall

• Fire Reeky. Additionally, take all your items and followers out of the house (if you leave anything behind, you will lose it)
• Go to another interior unit (any interior will do, but avoid exteriors to be safe) and make a new save.
• Use mod manager to disable or delete .esp & .bsa from data folder.
• Load your save, you will receive a message "Reekling Follower.esp is missing", click yes and load.
• If your game has no issues, you're good to go :)

compatibility

Reeky works using his own script, so he should be compatible with other follower mods and mods that affect followers.

However, don't try to control him with other mods or you might break his script.

Reeky is not compatible with Reekling Home (this mod adds the same house to the same place).

I created Reeky as a prototype for my upcoming mod that will feature multiple custom voiced followers, NPCs, and dialogue scenes. I decided to post Reeky because after adding the dialogue I thought some people might enjoy traveling with him.

I don't have many plans for Reeky after the initial release, but that doesn't mean I won't update. Depends on many other things.

Since Reeky is my first follower mod, he isn't perfect and doesn't have many features that other follower mods do.

But I thought it would be a good way to let people know about the minions I plan to bring into Skyrim :)
