About this mod Machine translation

Allows fast travel to town from waypoints.

Road sign fast travel lets you fast travel to a sign's town or city as long as you've discovered it (like, you know, regular fast travel...)

This is a small immersive game balance mod originally inspired by The Witcher 3's fast travel system. Not cheated like Skyrim's default, not restrictive like disabling fast travel entirely.

In MCM, you have the option to disable fast travel from the map menu, which allows you to exclusively use carriages and fast travel waypoints. This is what I feel is the right balance between immersion and convenience.

Compatibility and technical information:

Unofficial patch:

Complies with USSEP standards. If you're not using USSEP yet...then you probably should. Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

Mods conflict workarounds:

An option in the menu allows you to disable the check on scripts forcing fast travel to be disabled.

Disabling fast travel via script is intended for temporary use during missions, but may be used harshly by the quick and dirty "no fast travel" mode.

By default, this mod prevents fast travel from being disabled via scripts. This option allows bypassing it if desired.

If you want to disable regular fast travel from the map menu, the recommended method is to use the options available in the MCM for this mode.

Dependencies:

The core mod is independent of SKSE/SkyUI. They are required for configuring menus and quick travel disabling.

Moaar road sign:

Point's compatibility patches are available as optional downloads.

It is highly recommended as the 2 have very good synergy.

Loading order:

RoadSignsFastTravel.esp

Point to Way.esp

RoadSignsFastTravel - points to Way.esp

(Have not yet made a PR to the LOOT master list, so please double check if you rely on it)

Global Load Order Recommendations:

In addition to the specificities of Point The Way mentioned above, consider placing it as high in your load order as possible and let other modules do their work.

patch:

There are currently no additional patches provided for new world spaces or other road sign mods.

The patch for Beyond Skyrim: Bruma should be out this weekend.

Others must be provided by the community.

other:

The restoration of one of the road signs (to the right of Karthwasten) is included. Vanilla has a buggy collision layer that prevents players from activating it.

Added collisions to the helgen and riverwood signs so they can be activated.

distribute:

The Legend Edition is available on.

I don't intend to upload any content on Bethesda.net for any platform. You are free to republish there if you want/need to.

Graphic Mods Compatibility:

The texture replacer for road signs works out of the box with no additional tinkering required.

The grid replacer will work for all flags except those that have been fixed (see the "Miscellaneous" section). To work properly, the mesh replacer needs to contain the correct collision for the fixed flag, otherwise it won't work.

language:

English only starting with v1.1

Install:

Use the mod manager, or just delete RoadSignsFastTravel.esp and RoadSignsFastTravel.bsa in the Data folder.

integral:

Meglos, has kindly removed the background of the road sign you see on this page. Because I suck really bad at photoshop and am overall lazy.

Road Signs Fast Travel allow you to fast travel to the sign's town or city, provided you already discovered it (like, you know, for regular fast travel...)

This is a small immersion-gameplay balancing mod, originally inspired by The Witcher 3 's fast travel system. Not as cheated as Skyrim's default, without being as constraining as completely disabling fast travel.

From the MCM, you can choose to disable fast travel from the map menu, which leave you exclusively with carriages and the road signs to fast travel. This is what I feel like a right balance between immersion and convenience.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
