On the cusp of the Dwemer's disappearance, the fortress-city home of General Rkungtunch stood firm against the North and their continuing conquests in Skyrim. Set on a lofty plot of land overlooking the horizon and the vast expanse of the sky, it is not only a strategically fortified city residence and lookout, but was also built in secret at the behest of a town meeting thousands of years ago. Their orders were to build a fortress that would harness the power of dragons to provide weapons for the Dwemer wars, as well as possess some of the Dwemer's valuable treasures. Most notably, it was built in a climate unsuitable for it, and its materials were impenetrable by its clumsy, blindly inhabited and rebellious slaves.

As time passed and the Dwemer began to pursue the god who created them, the vast treasures and resources held in Rkung-Zel's storehouses and great library were gradually removed to support this endeavor. Shocked by this, the descendants of General Rkungtunch, enraged at the risk posed by the treasures and the fortress itself, sealed it in their own fortress along with all other races attending the family and city at the time. Foreseeing a potentially catastrophic event, these Dwemer hired the great tone architect Bthuvin to create a device that could freeze time. For this purpose, once the entrance to the city fortress was sealed with stones, Bthuvin would trigger his device according to his master's command. The last word from the fortress was a prophecy sent to the rest of the city-state of Demer:

When the dragon flies again,

Then the mountains will weep,

Only in this way can the white veil be lifted,

And time is shifting.

The masters are gone, those trapped inside,

Then the age will be like that of the relatives now.

Then the fortress of Rkung-Zel will be lost to time,

Saw a new ruler cut through the frost outside.

Now, with the return of the Dragons, the metropolitan fortress of Rkung-Zel once again reveals itself to the world. The lower city, filled with factories, treasures and the impressive but mysterious tonal installations of Rkung-Zel's great tonal architect Bthuvin, is sealed below, while its upper halls are pristine and ready for the next ruler to sit on the throne.

There is a vampire lair. the door is locked

Tip: Look near the door for the Find button. Maybe a sneaky vampire is hiding it behind something. Look around and you will find it

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
