About this mod Machine translation

This is an improved version of my old Monster Facial Animation. The most notable change is that it does not include vampire lords, while player werewolves may be unique to other werewolves

This mod is a clone of Monster Facial Animation and has been spreading fans on my dead account. The original purpose of that and that was to give the wolves and bears more life by giving them separate heads with facial movements such as blinks, lip sync, and facial expressions. The main goal of this update is that I want the werewolf character to be more unique while maintaining the features mentioned above.

So the way it works is that the player is technically converted to the default werewolf race, but changed to use separate meshes and textures, while all of the original NPC werewolves' races have been changed to the additional "Werewolf NPC" subrace, and even those will have their transformations at some point in the game unless you have the Diverse Werewolf Collection installed. Yes, even followers converted via third-party mods will be converted to the NPC-based werewolf race, such as Amazing Follower Tweaks or Werewolf Followers.

This mod also comes with a version for Growl, and a plugin for DWC.

Before installing, make sure you have uninstalled MFA (if applicable).

Manual installation:

Download the main file, open the archive in some ZIP program, drag and drop the Data folder into your Skyrim directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition) and enable the mod manager of your choice.

Make sure you load this mod after changing any other mods for the werewolf race! Otherwise, the player's werewolf will be headless!

If you are using Moonlight Tales SE, make sure to disable the skin option entirely.

To install new textures for your own werewolf, you will need to find the werewolf retexture of your choice and place it in the following folder:

Skyrim Special Edition/Data/Textures/Actors/Characters/Werewolves/Male (female respectively)

There are some nice texture packs here that I recommend you check out:

Belly Animals and Creatures Pack

HD Werewolf by KrittaKitty

Known issues:

Female werewolves may have a neck slit, usually when viewed from behind. I will address this issue in a future update.

This mod is a sorta reworked version of Monster Facial Animation that's been dusting around on my dead account. The original purpose of that one and this one, is that it breathes more life to werewolves and werebears by giving them separate head parts with facial movements (i.e. blinking, lipsyncing and facial expressions). And the main purpose of this update is that I wanted my werewolf character to be extra unique while still being able to use the aforementioned features.

So how it works is that technically the player will transform to the default werewolf race but which has been altered to use standalone meshes and textures, while all vanilla NPC werewolves' race has been changed to an additional "werewolf npc" subrace, even those who are seen transforming at some point in the game, unless you have Diverse Werewolves Collection installed. And yes, even followers who transform through third party mods will transform into the NPC-based werewolf race, such as Amazing Follower Tweaks or Werewolf Followers.

This mod also comes with a version that's adapted for Growl, as well as an add-on for DWC.

Before you install, make sure you uninstall MFA if you have it.

Manual installation:

Download the main file, open the archive in some ZIP program, drag-and-drop the Data folder to your Skyrim directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition) and enable the plugin in a mod manager of your choice.

Make sure you load this mod after any other mod that changes the werewolf race (such as Growl)!! Otherwise the player werewolf will be headless!

And if you're using Moonlight Tales SE, make sure you fully disable the skin option.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
