About this mod Machine translation

You've made enough sacrifices by putting on your milk-drinking robe. Keep your hands and feet protected and benefit from Ordinator's robe-based perks!

The phrase "no light or heavy armor if wearing robes" is the bane of my existence. Wearing robes already prevents you from getting most of the awesome perks and bonuses from the Ordinator's light and heavy armor trees. Wearing a full set of robes only allows you to benefit from three possible perks! Pooh!

What does this MOD do?

This mod reduces the requirements for any robe-based perks in EnaiSiaion's beautiful perk overhaul Ordinator. The initial condition "if wearing robes without light or heavy armor" requires you to wear an item of clothing from your own wardrobe (e.g. top, university robe) and no armor. This mod changes the condition to "if wearing robe" and nothing else. Meaning, as long as you wear the suit in its own slot, you can wear other armor and still benefit from perks like energy shields, mage robes, and protection spell bonuses! To balance out the potential power increase, the first level of Mage Armor has been increased in power by 75% instead of 100%. The last two perks still offer 50% bonus each, and all members of the three classes get 175% extra armor instead of 200%. I plan on balancing the other perks as well. Additionally, all other robe-based perks (except Energy Shield) have their levels reduced by 5%.

Is this balanced/friendly?

I am a firm believer in BYOG (balance your own game). To me, robes are not seen as equipment like light or heavy armor, but rather the lack of armor. Especially with Ordinator, putting on an outfit right away will cost you the chance to get the perk effect. Here are some reasons why you might need this mod.

In the vanilla game, pre-enchanted items of clothing do not appear randomly. You can find Apprentice of Destruction robes, or silenced steel boots, but nothing similar. This means that, barring a unique item like Cicero's Shoes, the only randomly generated enchanted gloves or boots you'll find are light or heavy armor. If you are a mage (without this mod) you are out of luck.

As mentioned earlier, the only way to obtain non-unique magical gloves or boots is to craft them yourself. Maybe you don't want to obsess over every damn god.

You can get around this with a combination of Mods Lootification or Loot and Degradation, but SSE's Lootification is (at least for me) super buggy and doesn't work. That was the only way for mages to use the Ordinator perk and wear cool gloves; until now!

What if you want to wear a robe and a priest mask?

Maybe you use True Armor or Know Your Enemy and want some specific stat boosts from the armor type.

Maybe you want to look like a Stendar vigilante and rock a steel boot/glove combo. Aesthetics are important!

Maybe it's all of these reasons, none, or somewhere in between. Do whatever you want!

Install

Just download the file and move the .esp into the Skyrim Special Edition/Data/ folder. If you use Mod Organizer, just make sure your .esp is at the top level. Make sure to load this file after the privileges of Ordinator-Skyrim.esp.

Require

Just a legitimate copy of Skyrim and EnaiSiaion's Ordinator - Skyrim's perks.

compatibility

This mod will definitely have issues with other mods that rebalance protection spells like Stoneflesh and Ebonyflesh. This could include mods that change the hit shader of said spell. If it doesn't work with a mod like this, please let me know and I'll patch it.

plans for the future

I want to balance it out a little more. I know this mod is something a lot of people want to use, but maybe it's better suited for their game. Reducing the potency of mage robes or geomancer robes would be a start. The energy shield is also interesting in that it can be changed to lower the reduction value (when your magicka drops below half) to start earlier or steeper depending on how much armor you have on. So cool. But getting the formula right requires a lot of work. But who …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
