About this mod Machine translation

Adjust the color and opacity of RW2 to make it less like blue ink and more like...water.

I was tired of seeing blue ink flowing in the channels of what should be rivers, so I went ahead and used the template provided by the Realistic Water 2 SE creator to not only change the watercolor to a more realistic shade of blue, but also increase the transparency while I was there!

The transparency comes from Ilinalta - realistic water transparency, but after lots of testing I used my own values.

Check out the comparison pictures to see what's changed. If you don't like it, open esp in xEdit and make the changes you want.

notes

I didn't edit the colors of the creeks because they looked fine to me.

I'm using Obsidian Weather and Seasons, which is what the palette selection is for. Please see comparison pictures, I have added some pictures for VANILLA Skyrim.

Not suitable for ENB users as the ENB series has its own way of correcting the issues I encountered.

Install

Drag and drop the esp file into your data folder, or install it using the Mod Manager of your choice.

renew

I changed some filenames so old versions were deleted and replaced with new ones. Don't merge.

Since each file has a different name, it is safe to add all three files to the modlist by simply changing the load order or activating/deactivating the required files.

Cancel installation

Delete from your data folder or uninstall using the Mod Manager of your choice. No scripts are used, so no harm done.

Loading order

Place it under "Realistic WaterTwo.esp" (obviously) and then under anything that might modify the watercolor.

compatibility

ENB-ENB users will most likely find the water too bright, so it's really unusable for them unless you want Kool-Aid water.

Ilinalta - Realistic water transparency - not compatible (outdated - already included in my mod anyway)

Water's Edge Fix - Most compatible (feel free to test them all. May "enhance" the effect)

iNeed - Compatible (Should detect water correctly after v1.1. Also works in v1.0-Clearer)

Keep Clean - Compatible (Water should be detected correctly after v1.1. Also works with v1.0-Clearer)

Smooth Coast - Compatible (edit completely different things so they work well together)

Better Volcanic Tundra Water - RW2 - Compatible (nicely complements my mod. Recommended)

Better water-compatible for RW2 (I feel like it smoothes out the texture a lot; however, it still works - see comparison pictures)

Wet Cool - Compatible (I've had no issues using this as far as I know)

Credit goes to the Realistic Water Two SE team (isoku-TechAngel85-SparrowPrince) for creating the original mod and the watercolor template I used for my modifications.

I did not edit creek colours as they already looked fine to me.

I am using Obsidian Weathers and Seasons, which is what the palette choice was intended for. See the comparison pics I've added a few for VANILLA Skyrim.

Was not intended for ENB users as ENB Series has it's own way of correcting the issues I had.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
