Reach tree placement fix

by tarlazo·v1.0·Updated 2019-03-29

Why do trees in Reach have to grow on personal boulders? I don't know the answer, but I don't like it, so I try to place them differently. I call it a fix, but it's really just a matter of taste.

Why do trees in Reach have to grow on personal boulders? I don't know the answer, but I don't like it, so I try to place them differently. I call it a fix, but it's really just a matter of taste.

It's a WIP, maybe it always is, due to the number of trees themselves.

There are most likely errors, most commonly missing adjustments for things hanging from trees. Sometimes it's hard to see them in CK.

I tried to move the trees as much as possible, I didn't notice the LOD consequences, but maybe regenerating it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Load order

Placement should be as high as possible, preferably after the DLC, or after the USSEP if you have one. This way all loaded mods can overwrite my edits if needed.

This is a WIP, and perhaps it'll always be, due to the sheer amount of trees itself.

It's quite possible that there are errors, the most common one being the missing adjustment of thingies hanging from the trees. Sometimes it's hard to see them in the CK.

I tried to move the trees the less I could, and I don't notice consequences on the LOD, but perhaps regenerating it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Load order

The placement should be as high as possible, ideally right after the DLCs, or right after USSEP, if you have it. This way all the loaded mods can override my edits, if they need to.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
