New animation for the Animated Armory Rapier for SkySA (Combat Behavior Obsession).

describe

Rapier Animation for Combat Behavior Enforcement does what it says on the tin: It adds new attack animations for NickNack’s Animated Armory’s rapier head to accommodate the movements of Distar’s SkySA – Combat Behavior Enforcement.

In SkySA, attacks cause the user to move forward, but the animation made for the character looks weird for this, as the character appears to slide forward. Distar included animations for the vanilla weapon classes in his mod, but the weapon classes added by Animated Armory use animations made by NickNack that were made for vanilla "standing" combat.

To partially compensate for the shortcomings of my own game, I made some quick rapier attack animations for the right-hand rapier. Note that I performed these attacks on a character with an empty left hand, and the shield looked fine, but using these animations while holding a weapon in the left hand may look strange. I may update these animations to be more smooth and impactful at some point when I have time.

Having said all that, you can of course still use these animations without using SkySA, but 1). They may look down on 2). Only stock attacks are included as this is the only attack used in SkySA, and 3). NickNack's animation fits perfectly with his other animations, making it smoother.

Take a look at the short clip below to get an impression:

Install

  • First, make sure the requirements are installed.
  • Then drag and drop the file into the data folder, or use the mod manager. (It is highly recommended that you use MO2 if you want to switch back to Animated Armory's animations.)
  • Run Nemesis after installation.

Description

Rapier Animations for Combat Behavior Compulsion does what it says: it adds new attack animations for the rapiers of NickNack's Animated Armoury to fit with the movement in Distar's SkySA - Combat Behavior Compulsion.

In SkySA, attacks cause the user to step forward, however animations made for vanilla will look odd with this as the character will seem to slide forward. Distar has included animations for vanilla weapon classes in his mod, but the weapon classes added by Animated Armoury use the animations made by NickNack which are made for the vanilla 'standing' combat.

To partly remedy this for my own game, I made some quick rapier attack animations for the right handed rapier. Note that I made these attacks for a character that has an empty left hand, and while shields look ok-ish, using these animations while holding a weapon in the left hand might look odd. I will probably update these animations to be more smooth and impactful at some point when I have the time.

Having said all that, you can of course still use these animations without using SkySA, but 1). They might look off, 2). only the standing attacks are included, as these are the only attacks used in SkySA, and 3). NickNack's animations are more smooth as they fit with his other animations perfectly.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
