About this mod Machine translation

This mod repeats the textures of drums, flutes and lutes in Skyrim. Available in 2 different versions

This is the 50th pattern I've uploaded to, so it must be something special to me. I'm a musician myself, so it's really cool to do these things.

Lute - The first version I made (a brown lute) that looked like a believable instrument that might be found during the medieval period. However, since many people prefer to keep the vanilla, I've added an enhanced, completely remade version of the vanilla (red lute). It's hard to find a way to make it look different since the vanilla grid is constructed to fit the brass frame. So I try my best to create alternative looks. Hope you guys like it :)

Flute - use some warm tall wood texture and add carving with burnt.in look (same for both versions)

Drum - completely remade with all parts of it - wood, rope, drumhead and added some norse/celtic drawings (same for both versions)

What it can do:

This mod reconstructs the instruments in the game. I created new textures for drums, flutes and lutes. The lute's sound hole was also redone, as it was just a black oval in the vanilla version. Added some sculpts and drawings.

For those who prefer, version 2 is closer to vanilla. View images to compare. All textures are 2K

Install:

  • Download using your preferred mod manager, install and overwrite when prompted
  • Or manually download, extract and place this mod's "Textures" folder into the Skyrim directory

uninstall:

  • Disable/uninstall mods from the manager or delete files from the Skyrim directory

compatibility:

These textures should be compatible with all content.

This is the 50th mod i´m uploading, so it had to be something special for me. I'm a musician myself, so working on these things was really nice.

Lute - The first version i made (the brown lute), was intended to look like a believable instrument you might have found in medieval times. But as many of you like to keep it vanilla, i added an enhanced and completely remade vanilla version (the red lute). It was tough to find a way to make it look different, as the vanilla meshes are build to suit the brass framework. so i did my best to create an alternative look. hope you guys like it:)

Flute - Used some warm hi res wood textures and added carvings with a burnt.in look (same in both versions)

Drum - Completely remade all parts of it - wood, rope, drum skin and added some norse/celtic drawings (same in both versions)

What it does:

This mod retextures the instruments found in game. I created new textures for drums, flutes and lutes. Also remade the sound hole of the lute as it´s just a black oval in the vanilla version. Added some carvings and drawings.

Version two is closer to vanilla, for those who prefer. See images for comparison.   All textures are 2K

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
