About this mod Machine translation

Allows you to select the RaceMenu overlay so that it only displays during combat, and provides various particle effects for use in or out of combat.

This is a mod that allows you to hide some RaceMenu overlays until you enter combat. All of this can be configured via MCM.

The overlay will disappear after a short time. You can set the intensity of their display using the "Max Alpha" setting for each. (Alpha is the degree of opacity, 0% is completely invisible)

New in 1.2: Particle effects options! Some effects are taken from spells and some are custom, but you can choose one to apply in combat and another to always use on your character. 30 different effects for you to choose from!

Calm - like a spell.

Cold Fire - Fire, but blue.

Dark Magic - Resurrect a black marrow effect around a corpse.

Detect Life - Like a spell, but doesn't completely mask your character.

Drops of Blood/Water (Black)/Water - Custom effect that sounds the same.

Electric - used for many magic effects.

Embers - A custom effect of tiny glowing shards floating upwards. Available in 6 colors.

Ethereal - ghost-like.

Fire - Like a cloak of fire.

Flies (Normal/Twiggy) - Custom effects for spinning insects.

Madness - like a spell.

Frost - Like a frost cloak.

Pine Needles - Custom effect for falling pine needles.

Pollen - a custom effect of tiny green particles wafting from your body.

Runes - custom effects for magical floating letters. Available in 6 colors.

Trapped Soul - Like a spell.

Turn Undead - Spell Burning Effect.

Instructions on the "Activate on MCM" item:

Combat: This will trigger your overlay to appear after being attacked.

Draw Weapon: This triggers the overlay to appear whenever you draw a weapon.

Both: This will trigger your overlay when either of the above conditions is met.

Known issues

If you unset an unused overlay in this mod, in most cases I can't get its alpha back to where it should be. When I can tell you that the Alpha is absolutely beyond repair, a window will pop up that will take you directly to RaceMenu to make corrections.

Sometimes, after starting a new game, the mod fails to open the overlay correctly. Saving and loading seems to fix the problem.

Video and image permissions are on! Feel free to show off your character’s cool tattoos!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
