RAB stock limit
Actual limits on how many items you can carry are based on item type, not just item weight. Even though they are lightweight, you can't shoot a dozen hunting bows. Plan your next mission and pack wisely - Skyrim is no longer home to pack rats.

Capacity Beta - The original stock capacity module that inspired my own abilities. Good idea, but when I converted and tried it, it didn't work very well.
Harcore Capacity - An interesting concept: you can't drop items, but you can't fight or use magic when overused.
Realistic Capacity - Another take on the inventory limit challenge, from the same author as Hardcore Capacity, this one works by adjusting your carrying capacity as items are equipped.

Cobb Barrier - You speed up or slow down based on the total weight of what you are carrying. marvelous! handles weight, while my mod handles item size (volume), so they play well together.
Immersive Horses - Horses have become almost essential now since you can't carry as many. IH allows you to assign a hotkey to access your horse inventory remotely, even deep in the dungeon. Once you clear it without having to go back and forth (just don't cheat and use the horse's inventory for your own stuff!), I'd be happy to ship the loot out! Personally, I take it to the next level by reducing the weight my horse carries. Vanilla 999 to 250. (In SSEdit, go to Skyrim.esm > Race > HorseRace and reduce "Base Carry Weight" as needed.)
Frostfall, Campfire, Wet & Cold and Bandoliers - all of these offer wearable backpacks, straps and pouches that work with this mod, allowing you to carry more. Not technically required, but trust me - you're going to want them!
how does this work
This mod creates six logical "limiter slots" that your project will fit into. If you try to pick up an item but its designated slot is full, you cannot carry the item, so you will drop the item and receive a notification.
Each slot has a base capacity that can be enhanced or reduced by equipping a backpack, bandoliers or pouches. Frostfall backpacks, Campfire backpacks, Wet & Cold backpacks, Bandoliers bags and small bags are all supported!
These slots are designed for hardcore realism and playability, but are fully customizable via MCM. By default, you'll have enough space to carry what you need to explore, but no more. A backpack certainly helps, but you still can't concentrate the loot like you can in vanilla. You need to choose wisely what brings you quests, and what loot you take away from the dungeon. This helps balance out the economic side effects, as you'll no longer be able to drag a dozen pieces of super valuable armor into town to sell.
Note/Quirk: If your slot is already close to maxing out backpack removal, the slot may be overcapacity. Initially, the mod removed items in order to get you back under the limit, but problems quickly began when I removed the backpack to shower or sleep, sending items flying around. Now, while you have overcapacity, it won't drop items... you'll just remain overcapacited until you drop some items yourself, or equip your backpack again.
Slot definition
Slot #0 - Sheaths/Weapons: You can carry six two-handed weapons, seven one-handed weapons, or a mixture thereof. Carrying a backpack actually reduces this capacity, since you can no longer carry a weapon. You'll have enough of your main weapons and maybe an extra weapon or two that you can take back to town for gold.
Slot #1 - Quiver: You can hold up to 60 arrows, or 50 bolts, or a mix thereof. Besides squeezing your quivers, you won't be able to easily grab them when needed.
Slot #2 - General Storage: Everything else that doe …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
