About this mod Machine translation

A new craftable necklace has been added to the game to help queer women and non-binary players show off their pride. Sweep the ladies of Skyrim from under their feet and out of their monotonous little heterosexual lives! This necklace works the same way AMULET OF MARA does in seducing marriage propositions...but only for female NPCs!

Be the Lavender Menace you want to see in the world.

Craftable: Building one for yourself only requires some lavender, some straw for braiding rope, and some stones for beads and pendants! There's no need to tinker with levels; as long as you choose the right materials on your way to Helgen (or wherever you start), you'll be able to find the best stuff in the game. It will appear under the jewelry section of your crafting menu.

Built-in enchantment: Since it's craftable from the start and the materials are easy to get, I made a pretty tame enchantment

Overwhelmed by lower level characters (a little bit of persuasion, a little extra weight). But like most jewelry, it weighs very little, so you can keep it in your inventory while you go on adventures, and put it back when you go into town to flirt with all those lovely ladies! Update: Thanks to the extremely wonderful guidance of DreamLikeDragon and Summerwolf, who walked me through the quest editing process, this necklace can now be made into an enchanting Amulet of Mara, a seductive marriage proposition - but only for female NPCs!

(Yes, of course the NPCs still refer to it as the "Amulet of Mara" in their conversations - but since Mara is the goddess of love, this is still the Amulet of Mara, not the Amulet of Mara, so technically...)

Compatibility: Should be compatible with everything, as it uses vanilla materials (Skaal Amulet retextured) and appears as a separate new item, but

If you encounter any conflicts, please let me know! There may be minor conflicts with other mods that change the marriage quest, but this is unlikely. If you do have other similar mods installed and encounter any issues, try swapping their loading order!

(Note that there are no gameplay barriers to prevent a male character from wearing this; I don't want to get in the way of how you express your character's gender or any mods you might implement for more gendered player options. Make some kind of switch, especially considering Bethesda sets everything up as very limited gender binary, and I can't write with non-binary or genderfluid options. So technically, yes, you can have your male character wear this... but what's the point? No.)

This is my first time trying to modify anything and I'm very open to tips, suggestions and criticism. Especially those that come with very detailed, clear, simple instructions. Condescending details can even be good. I spent about a week feeling my way around the modification path and even figuring out the refactoring stuff, so I'm not sure I qualify as a noob at all. So yeah...walk me through it. Kids like you. Thanks.

Open permissions: This mod is completely free and open for community use! Do whatever you want, put it wherever you want. Add it to your own mod, rewrite it, restructure it (I originally wanted to make it out of leather and lavender just because I liked the way it sounded but I couldn't find an existing amulet I liked that looked like it used those materials, and I'm not skilled enough to build it from scratch; if you are, make a mess of yourself!), add it to your npcs, put it in your quests... anything.

(Well, anything, as long as it's not homophobic or transphobic, please. TERFs can make their own ugly necklaces to match their hateful filthy little souls; we're too busy including anyone else to have any space

Thanks for them Goodbye! )

Gratitude and Gratitude: Especially DreamLikeDragon and Summerwolf make marriage exploration work! You two are true heroes of Skyrim and you have my eternal gratitude. Also thanks to Rafnagud for the extensive troubleshooting on my file!

Anyway, thanks for checking out my first mod …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
