Project - Delayed Startup Fix

This mod ties Project AHO's opening scene into a vanilla quest that you can choose when to complete, in addition to the regular level 15 requirement. So far I have 4 missions to choose from, you only need one of them.

One of the things I love about non-linear RPGs like Skyrim is that I can choose what I want to do and when. I wasn't forced to follow a path predetermined by the developers. Project AHO is a great mod, but I find the mod difficult to get you started right away. Once you reach level 15, you will see a popup asking you if you are ready to start the mod or if you want to wait. If you say you're ready, the opening ceremony will happen soon. If you choose to wait, you will see the same popup every 12 hours forever (until you give up and start the mod). In a game where I don't want to launch the mod right away, I find this annoying.

This mod only adds additional conditions to the startup task. To be clear, this mod does not stop that initial popup message. In fact, when you get that message, you really want to go ahead and tell it that you're ready to go. What this mod does is delay the next stage of the startup scene where you are captured. This mod inserts an additional condition as a trigger for the scenario, which matches one of the 4 different Daedric quests I mentioned below.

I want a condition that's easy to complete when you want it, but it's also not very important in most people's games so they can put it off when they want. So far I have 4 options. Once you complete the quest to obtain the Wabbajack, the Crazy Heart option will trigger the quest. When you complete the quest to obtain the Ebony Blade, the Whispering Door option will trigger the quest. The Black Star triggers when you get Azura's Star or The Black Star. When you complete the quest for Ebony Mail, Boethia's Call will trigger. Yes, those are arbitrary choices that have nothing to do with Project AHO, but now you'll only see the popup once. You must also be at least level 15 in all 4 cases.

If you haven't completed any of the above quests before, The Whispering Door is by far one of the easiest, so I'd recommend one if you just want something easy to trigger (although it also has a very useful bonus early to mid-game). Mad Minds is also fairly easy, although it can be confusing without a walkthrough (and the rewards aren't terribly useful). Azura's Star and Boethia's Calling are both difficult depending on the mod you're using (and Boethia's Calling won't trigger until you're level 30).

If you've already started getting pop-ups, this will still delay your start. I just tested it in a game that has agreed to launch Project AHO, but the opening scene hasn't happened yet (only the popup). The scenario doesn't happen until I complete the task and I don't receive any further pop-ups.

Install:

Decide which version you want and install it using the mod manager of your choice. If you prefer, it's merged so it doesn't take up the ESP slot.
