About this mod Machine translation

Do you want Skyrim to have an animal activity, but don't want to write it yourself? Here's my solution: Make a bestiary using the components of creatures collected from killing. Sometimes it's necessary to complete tasks or refer to other books to give you some knowledge about a species. Good luck to them!

When playing games, I always use the journal of the Dragonborn to write my own beast books. But trying to keep up with all the creatures in Skyrim, especially when resetting for a new game, can be particularly troublesome. This mod is the solution: a set of orcs that can be crafted and collected, each researched to properly represent the lore of The Elder Scrolls. This mod is very lightweight and there is almost no risk of mod conflicts.

This mod is currently in Alpha. Currently, there are 40 different best animals to choose from. I plan to add the rest of the content for vanilla Skyrim and its DLC by the end of this month, as well as one more update, after which it will be relegated to Beta.

This mod is very much a collectible mod and requires as much effort to get the best books as actual research. Sometimes this includes completing missions involving unique biological variations.

The final version will include proportional rewards for completing them, mostly rewards for the creature in question or special abilities associated with it. These bonuses will only appear if you have the relevant books in your inventory, so you won't be burdened with unnecessary effects. I know carrying all these books can be confusing - not really what you want! You just select what you want and leave the rest in your home library.

Additionally, making the best entries will reveal weaknesses and strategies for dealing with enemies. Breeders often provide example uses of alchemical ingredients, but do not reveal all properties.

The process is like this:

Kill a creature in Skyrim

Collect dropped items

Go to tanning rack

If you have one of the necessary materials, you can make a 1st edition of each Bestiary book. V1 recipes will only be shown if you have a required material in your inventory

Check the tanning rack for the next recipe. You need the previous version in the manifest. If the recipe for the next version is not shown, you have additional requirements at the end of that version. Completing the requirements will cause the recipe to appear.

Once you have the version with COMPLETE EDITION on the title page, you can complete the campaign.

Most books will be upgraded to 3rd edition, but there will be a lot of changes. In some special cases, the starting recipe won't be shown without a special request - usually because the creature in question doesn't have unique loot. I've also included simplified "Bestiary Tips" instructions to help with these issues, if you'd like.

The best books are evaluated based on the cost of the materials put into them, so they won't break the bank!

TODO LIST: Once you complete these steps, the mod will be at version 1.0

Provides complete bestiary and recipes for all creatures in unmodded Skyrim

Balancing process requirements

Add pictures to bestiality book

Own a "complete version" of each trainee to receive additional rewards. These bonuses only appear when you have books in your library, so you're not burdened with unwanted effects.

Planned patches - after completing the above to-do list

CACO - Improved wide variety of the best handcrafted recipes

Skyrim Immersive Creatures - Only available for "pure" aka lore creatures. No drama.

Legacy of the Dragonborn - Depends on if there's a good place in the museum, and their approval

Choosing Mihail Monster Mods I personally use and consider it "knowledge friendly".

Deadly Dragon

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
