About this mod Machine translation

Vampires and werewolves must hide their identities from the people of Skyrim.

Predators are roleplaying tools for werewolves and vampires. The purpose is to reflect the public health fear and caution surrounding these cursed people.

Predator is highly customizable. You decide whether being a beast of the night is your most defining trait, or just a supernatural ability. You decide whether the need to feed the beast is a constant, overwhelming feeling of hunger or just a minor annoyance. You decide whether Predators are just a role-playing tool or the most powerful gameplay mechanic in the game.

Upgrading: If you upgraded from 3.x, use MCM to resolve your curse yourself, then upgrade. You may need to reset some custom settings. If you are upgrading from 2.x or before having to start a new game.

Green text indicates the presence of MCM options to adjust or disable functionality. MCM options will allow players to customize how dominant your predator nature is in the game. You can make werewolves the main focus of the game, or reduce their effectiveness to just an occasional nuisance.

secret identity

Werewolves and vampires must keep their identities secret or become outlaws. There are three new tracking statistics that are compared to calculate a player's risk of being detected.

Suspect

The current level of public concern that werewolves or vampires may be living among them is measured by a new statistic called Suspicion. This statistic is tracked individually for each retention and will start at 0 for most retentions. Whenever you feed on a humanoid, your current suspicion increases by 1 to a maximum of 5 times. If there is no vampire or werewolf activity in the holding, then this number will be reduced by 1 every 7 days. Suspicion is a rough estimate that you might be accused of being a werewolf or a vampire.

reputation

Reputation represents the degree of trust and comfort the bearer has in you. There are 5 levels of reputation:

Known (at least 3 friends)

Well known (held by at least 5 friends)

Resident (own property)

Thane (become a holder)

Hero (complete main quest or civil war)

These levels don't stack, so if you become one and own a house, you still only have 4 known, and you can't get 5 points without completing the main questline or the Civil War questline.

Renown acted as a "buffer" against growing suspicion. Even if they were sure there was a werewolf or vampire wandering around, people wouldn't think of blaming the heroes who reunited the country.

human nature

Vampires and werewolves now have a "Humanity" stat that measures their true nature. Humans start at 5 (unquestionably), and various factors cause predators to lose their humanity points.

In 4 Humanity, you emit a mysterious aura that provides bonuses to bargaining and persuasion. Among humans and below, people begin to feel the malice in that aura, and they become nervous and twitchy. You no longer get the persuasion bonus, but you get the intimidation bonus.

risk

Each time you talk to an NPC, your risk of being accused by the NPC will be calculated based on how well they know you, their current level of concern, your current humanity, and their relationship to you. The formula is:

Risk = 5 + Suspicion - Humanity - Reputation - Relationship Level

If your risk is greater than 5, NPCs will accuse you of being a werewolf or vampire. This will set off an alarm and make all guards and the NPC in question hostile.

admit

If you are accused of being a werewolf or a vampire and your reputation reaches 3 or higher, you will lose your current level of reputation. You can still increase your reputation, but never to more than 2. People may be hesitant to accuse a dragon of being a vampire, but if he's been proven to be one once, he'd be better off with his yellow glowing eyes and pale skin.

If you are recognized a second time, you may be permanently removed from the "hijack" or have your home seized by guards.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
