Practical windmill

millstone

This mod is a killer and vanilla-friendly version of Smash It Up-Functional Mills. The entire mod was rebuilt from scratch, but I'd like to give credit to JimThrawn for the original idea. This mod will convert the windmills around Whiterun to a working version; grinding will work normally unless the item becomes usable.

To achieve this, a new furniture object was created to replace the non-vanilla grindstone and given the vanilla isGrainMill keyword. Then create a new new recipe using the same keywords. When one of these new objects is activated, the user will be given a crafting menu to craft their items. This basically works like a vanilla grain mill and the new recipe is added to these vanilla mills as well.

This mod only edits the three windmills surrounding Whiterun. The rest of the windmill serves as a reference for things I don't want to touch. The original three windmill millstones have been disabled.

Powered Mammoth Tusk

1 mammoth tusk = 3 pieces

bone meal

There are several objects that can be broken down into bone meal:

2 small antlers = 1 item

1 large antler = 1 item

1 human skull = 1 item

1 Troll Skull = 2 pieces

1 keel = 4 pieces

Alto wine

This is the only wine I can find information about its production. Therefore, it is the only wine currently available. It requires 10 jazbay grapes. I know yeast is required, but there is no yeast in the game, so the assumption is when baking.

Mod authors can include new factory furniture in their mods by simply copying the WindmillMillActivator object, giving it a unique name and placing it in their mod. Installed mills will automatically get their recipes when this mod is installed. New grinding recipes created need to use the isGrainMill keyword in order for the factory to pick them up.

Functional Windmills

Mill Stones

This mod is a lore and vanilla-friendly version of Smash It Up - Functional Mills. The entire mod was rebuilt from the ground up, but I wanted to give JimThrawn the credit deserved for the original idea. This mod converts the unless windmills around Whiterun to working versions; making it possible to grind down normally unless items into usable ones.

To achieve this goal, a new furniture object was created to replace the unless vanilla mill stones and given the vanilla, isGrainMill, keyword. Then new new recipes were created using the same keyword. When one of these new objects are activated, users are presented with a crafting menu to craft their items. This essentially works just like the vanilla grain mills, and the new recipes are also added to these vanilla mills, as well.

The mod only edits the three windmills around Whiterun. The remainder of the windmills are used as references for things I don't want to touch. The three original windmill grind stones have simply been disabled.

Alto Wine

This was the only wine I could find information on what it was made from. Therefore, it's currently the only wine included. It requires 10 jazbay grapes. I know that yeast is requires, but there isn't yeast in the game, so it's assumed as when baking.

Adding this to your mod...

Mod authors can include the new mill furniture in their mods by simply duplicating the WindmillMillActivator object, giving it a unique name, and placing it their mods. The placed mills will automatically pick up the recipes included in this mod, when it's installed. New grinding recipes created need to use the isGrainMill keyword for the mills to pick them up.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
