Convenient extension to the poisoning system - see what poisons you've applied, and refill or remove poisons on weapons
An attempt to improve and expand the Skyrim poisoning experience, giving you more options for applying poison and showing you what your weapon is poisoned into.
Once installed and running, you can highlight a poison in your inventory and use hotkeys (B and N by default) to instantly apply it to your right or left-handed weapon. Once done, SkyUI will show you what poison was applied - and there's even a widget on the HUD so you don't have to open the menu :)

Look at the current poison
What really annoys me in the vanilla game is that once the poison is applied, that's it. You can see that your weapon has been poisoned, but not much anymore - and there were a few times I found myself wondering what exactly would happen when I hit an enemy with a mysteriously poisoned sword.
With this mod, any weapon equipped with poison will display the poison on the item card of the SkyUI inventory screen (with the image on the right). I placed it next to the rather nice snake icon that represents poison and tried my best to make it a useful size. This works for NPCs too! As long as their weapons are fully equipped, entering their inventory will reveal the poisonous filth on their blades.
I also added a widget to the HUD so you can see at a glance the current poison on your weapon and how much poison is left on it. Speaking of which...
Add more doses
Poison running a little low? About to get into a big fight and don't want to reapply poison every few seconds? Well, me neither - so if you have multiple vials of the same poison, you can just keep pressing the relevant hotkey and add more doses to your weapon.
cleaning poison
Another annoyance with vanilla is that I can't get rid of the poison once applied. This seems silly, so pressing the 'apply' hotkey when selecting a weapon will attempt to clear the poison. You'll lose all your doses of poison, but at least you can now place another one.
nontoxic poison
This happened completely by accident, but I decided to leave it in.. since the mod just tries to paint your weapon with any Alchemy item highlight, now it can actually apply the repair potion to the weapon! Why do you want it? Well, most of the time I'm not sure you would - but in that situation where your friendly mage minion is far away from Magicka, you might enjoy being able to saturate your bow with powerful magic potions, and use the least damaging arrows you'd have to make a really, really crude long-range subcutaneous delivery mechanism..
I'm not saying it's always a good idea, but to me, it's just too much fun to leave it.
Poison/clean weapons in favorites menu!
This uses the same methods and hotkeys as in the main inventory menu - so highlight the (popular) poison and press the hotkey to apply it, or highlight the weapon and press the key to clean it. Many thanks to Guraka22 for suggesting being able to do this from favorites.
compatibility
There should be no direct conflict as no vanilla records were compromised in making this mod ;)
However, please note that this is completely separate from the existing poisoning system. Likewise, left-clicking on poison will still prompt you to add it to your main hand weapon, just like normal. All functions of these mods are accomplished via hotkeys.
Additionally, since it's separate, any mods that change your poison dose via perks - most commonly by overriding the "Concentrated Poison" perk to give you more than 2 doses, for example - won't be automatically reflected in the mod. There is a manual option though - in MCM you can set the multiplier for the poison dose, so if you have a mod like this just set the MCM slider to match.
Configuration
There is an MCM menu where you can select a hotkey to poison your right/left hand weapon directly (defaults to B and N respectively). You can also set a multiplier for poisoning (i.e. duplicate the "Concentra …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
