As of today's The Elder Scrolls 4E 201, Red Mountain continues to erupt by spewing toxic ash into the atmosphere. In Skyrim's world space, Red Mountain is already included in the distance, but has no visual effect. This mod solves this problem by adding visibility in the soot plume, as seen in Solstheim. For lore purposes, due to the shape of Nirn, the center of Skyrim will provide the greatest view for sightseeing this event.
Unparalleled experience, unparalleled experience.

4E 05-Red Mountain Eruption
In 4E 05 one of the most disastrous events in Tamric history occurred. The Ingenium device was unable to hold Baar Dau in place, causing the meteor to collide with the island of Vivecf, Vvardenfell. Eventually it crashed, followed by a nasty chain reaction. When Vivec City was finally destroyed, most of its residents died. Just a short time later, after centuries of relative dormancy, Red Mountain erupted with the largest recorded eruption since the Second Era. The volcanic ash that plagued the air immediately piled up, creating a fog-like effect that blocked out much of the sunlight for the entire year (called the Second Death of the Sun). Thousands of Dunmer perish from suffocation and other factors, such as the sudden appearance of human-like ash spawns. The inhabitants of Morrowind must quickly adapt to their ever-changing environment. Due to their destructive influence on Morrowind, the Argonians launched a retaliatory campaign against the Dark Elves a year later, enslaving them for countless years.

4E 122-Winter Disasters
People speculated whether the Great Winterhold Collapse a few decades later in the winter was a direct result of the Red Year. In 4E 122, Skyrim's northern coast was devastated by a sudden outbreak of devastating storms. Most of Winterhold eroded rapidly before entering the Ghost Sea. The university and a small portion of the southeastern part of the city were spared. Much information is still missing, making it one of Tamriel's greatest mysteries.

RED MOUNTAIN'S SMOKE PLUME
SKYRIM SPECIAL EDITION
As of the present-day Elder Scrolls, 4E 201, Red Mountain continues to erupt by sending plumes of toxic ash into the atmosphere. In Skyrim's worldspace, Red Mountain is already included in the far distance but without visual effects. This mod fixes that, by adding visibility to the ash plume, as seen in Solstheim. For lore-purposes, central Skyrim will become the furthest point of visibility for sightseeing this event, due to Nirn's shape.
AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE, IN THE LORE-FRIENDLIEST WAY.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
