- Introduction
This mod is a standalone version of Lich Race, which is part of another mod of mine - "Overlord - Become an Evil Lich" (if you like playing the undead, check it out! You won't regret it :)). The mod adds a new, fully playable skeleton race with unique customizations and abilities. The game is fully functional and can be used in normal games.
2.Features - Content added by mod
New, fully playable custom race: Lich (based on a skeleton model) with its own visuals and abilities
New events support almost all vanilla equipment (armor, gloves, etc.)
An amulet that attacks the sight function - you will be attacked by all creatures without wearing it. Draugrs and skeletons are friendly!
Complete, craftable Ancient Norse armor set, only available for Lich Games
Complete, craftable Evil Lich Robes and Evil Lich Priest Robes, only available in Lich Games
3.Installation and Requirements
Download this mod and extract the zip archive into the /Data folder in the skyrim directory. Launch the game and select the <Lich> race in the character creator. Because the mod modifies the vanilla entry to make the clothing visible when wearing it, you need to load this mod after any other mod that changes the vanilla clothing data. Otherwise wear e.g. Stormcloak You'll see human skin instead of bones.
- New Lich Tournament - Overview
This is a new race called "Lich". It is based on the skeleton model, although heavily modified to fit a "human" skeleton and animation.
Races can be selected on the character creation menu like any other. Here are a few questions and answers:
- What customization options are available?
You can choose gender, weight and eye color (9 variants: none, red, green, blue, purple all with 3 types of pupils). The reason you can't completely change the skull shape is due to game stability issues. Also I don't think the human body's bones are that different and require a lot of customization. But I may add them in the future
- How is the playability? Can I play this game normally? Are there any drawbacks\features that aren't there?
This is a completely playable game. You won't have any problems playing or doing any quests, but those require vampire\werewolf since you are already immortal and can't become one. In other words, the disadvantages of this game are:
- You are "undead" from the beginning.
- You cannot become a vampire through normal means (because you are already dead and you are completely immune to disease)
- Although I tried the best vanilla outfits to fit the game (see pictures in the gallery), some of the suits showed human skin when worn (not a lot)
- Clothes/Arms/Spells etc. Can I use them?
All wearables can be worn in this game. It goes without saying that there is no problem with clothes that already cover the entire body.
From clothing\armor that exposes your skin when worn (e.g. imperial suits) I made some versions that included skeletons. You can see them in the gallery.
This includes those armors:
dragon crate
Light, medium, and heavy imperial breastplates and gauntlets
General Tulius and Penicus Oculatus breastplate and gloves
Stormcloak Chestplate (including sleepless ver)
veterinary breastplate
Steel breastplate (two versions with (outer) armor)
Prisoner set
Iron suit (two versions)
The Savior’s Hiddenness
Nightindale Gloves
Thieves Guild Breastplate and Gloves (all available variants)
All fur/bandit set …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
