On this page you will find my Skyrim portfolio. Most deal with some aspect of esoteric lore. All of this is very friendly, but sometimes deviates from the "wiki-accurate" description of my own view of how real scholars interpret source material. I try my best to write from the perspective of someone who actually exists in Tamriel, who certainly doesn't have access to every piece of knowledge about the universe, so please excuse any deviations from the wiki page.
I was planning on including these in a full mission at some point, including a romp through some Oblivion planes (or even going so far as to write a full script for this mission), but I haven't had enough time lately so instead, I'm publishing the books myself. I hope you get as much fun as possible from reading it.
I have more ideas for some other character books and may upload them here as I finish them here, so if you like my work, follow the page!
Books and where to find them
All books can be found in Arcanaeum Academy and are also added to level lists (via scripts), so you should see them occasionally in the world and at vendors. Additionally, there are some placed around the world in a lore-friendly way that should blend seamlessly with the vanilla game.
Planeswalkers:
A story of adventure, forbidden knowledge and perseverance in the face of great evil for the sake of love. Follow Alistair as he and his sister Cumbria undertake a journey not seen since the days of Morian Zenas, into the depths of Oblivion itself...
It is approximately 21,000 words long (the length of a short story) and divided into 9 books.
Undo Dawn:
Provocative? Maybe. Rebellious? Some would say so. A compiled critique of Talos' established views on death and divinity, as well as theories regarding the Thalmor's true goals.
A book that may be slightly longer than other game books.
Arrangement of people:
A study examining race and soul through age. Sometimes historical, otherwise metaphysical, the book is bound to be the subject of controversy.
Also a book, and only slightly longer than standard.
Compatibility etc.
Book placement may conflict with mods that edit the following cells:
Arcanaeum
heimsk house
Candlehearth Hall
Thalmor Headquarters
The conflict may be minor, but if you have a mod that edits these areas and is concerned, download the "Rodryk's Books - No Placement" file instead of the main file.
Load RodryksBooks.esp above any lighting modules in the load order.
Other than that, this mod should be compatible with almost anything. Adding to the level list is handled entirely by the script, so there are minimal logging conflicts.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
