Clean, simple and efficient survival game add-on.

Simplifying the requirements module was more in line with the original vision of the game, and I intentionally pursued a design that made it feel like it was part of the original game.

There is now an incentive to pursue consuming certain foods in the game to gain all the buffs, while being punished for not doing so.

The tutorial is very simple and easy to follow - time passes and you feel thirsty, hungry or tired.

Thirst reduces stamina.

Hunger reduces health.

Less magic when tired.

Drink anything that is not alcohol and you will no longer be thirsty and will gain an increased stamina pool.

Eat any meat or vegetables to eliminate hunger and increase your health pool.

Sip any type of soup to quench hunger and thirst and gain increased stamina and health pool.

To get rid of tiredness, you have to sleep, but the time you sleep multiplied by 2 will be the time it takes for you to get tired again. This time cannot exceed 16 hours.

The duration of the buff has been converted to game time, so the time scale directly affects the duration of the buff and how long it takes you to feel hungry. It is recommended to reduce the time scale.

Vampires and werewolves are immune to neediness.

If you drink alcohol, you will immediately become thirsty. There is some alcohol in the game that won't make you thirsty (tip: look for any alcohol that doesn't have any adverse effects). The milk is also delicious as is the soup.

Is a simplified needs mod that is more inline with the original vision of the game, I intentionally pursued a design that made it feel like it was part of the initial game.

There is now incentive to pursue the consuming of certain food items in the game in order to acquire buffs all whilst being punished for not doing so.

The tutorial is quite simple and easy to understand - Time passes by, you get thirsty, hungry or tired.

Thirst reduces stamina.

Hunger reduces health.

Tired reduces magicka.

Drink any food item that is NOT alcohol and you will no longer be Thirsty, and will gain an increased stamina pool.

Eat any meat or vegetables to remove Hunger and gain an increased health pool.

Slurp up any type of soup to remove both Hunger and Thirst and gain both an increased stamina and health pool.

In order to remove Tired, you must sleep, however, the amount of time you sleep multiplied by two will be the amount of time it takes until you get Tired again. This time cannot be any bigger than 16 hours.

The duration of the buffs has been converted to in-game time, so the timescale directly affects the time of the buffs and how long it takes for you to get hungry. Lowering the timescale is recommended.

Vampires and Werewolves are not affected by needs.

If you drink alcohol, you will become Thirsty immediately. There is some alcohol in the game that does not make you Thirsty (Hint: Look for any alcohol that does not have any detrimental effects). Milk is also as good as a soup.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
