About this mod Machine translation

Tired of dressing up your followers like a doll? You just want to put down the device and ask your followers to manage it themselves because you have other things to do. Now you can. The choice depends on their skills.

This mod does not require SKSE. Sorry, that also means no MCM.

Compatible with almost everything (except custom containers).

Works with any follower system.

Use with any minion.

You have some followers, you have some equipment. You just want to put down your device and ask your followers to manage it themselves because you have other things to do. Now you can. This mod is designed for those who have a small following and need some help managing their gear without getting too addicted to it.

The minion will pick up and equip items appropriate to its skill, and attempt to dispose of the rest. For example, if a minion has low archery skills, he won't keep a bow in his inventory. Enchantments that force specific skills are also considered.

Two modes:

Fully automatic mode.

Place some items on the ground or store items in containers.

Command your followers to search the nearby area: Select the topic "Self-Preservation".

Note that the process does not stop automatically, they iterate forever. Draw the weapon and manually select the "Complete Preparations" theme.

They will look for any observable object. They won't steal.

If a follower takes an item from a container, he can put a garbage object into that container (so other followers can access the old stuff).

If a minion takes items from the ground, he won't drop the conflicting objects to the ground (the beta version did this, but had serious issues with items disappearing), but the items will still remain in his inventory without being equipped.

Special instructions:

This mode is slow, a single follower will select a single item and then another follower will do the same thing.

Don't put everything into a single container. This will create a crowd around it, so it may be difficult for the followers to access this single chest.

Leave your followers alone and don't try to observe and "correct" their choices. Do something with parallelism, alchemy, forging, dialogue, etc.

It is recommended to place items in small packages that do not conflict with the equipment being equipped.

Followers may get stuck due to navigation routines. Press and hold the Use key on the follower to enter the Commands (Favorites) menu. Or simply order another follower to prepare.

If both items (equipped and new) meet the skill requirements, the minion will favor the most expensive item.

In this mode, followers will typically not keep two items of the same type in their inventory (for example, if they select a helmet, either the new helmet or the old helmet will go into the supply container). Characters will keep a minimum number of items appropriate to their skills.

Automatic mode may not work with custom containers.

manual mode

Commands your slave to take all accessories from a specific container and ignore the rest.

Select the "Organize Yourself" theme

Enter command menu

Point to container

Exit the command menu after removing the project

Special instructions:

Once the mission is complete, the follower will enter automatic mode and remain in this state until you disable it (via "Complete Preparations").

Characters will retain the maximum number of items appropriate to their skills.

Please note that this program should be used as a draft. After that, you still need to manually view the source container and follower's manifest.

Please make sure to enable the Papyrus log before installing, if you share the log it can help track down potential issues with character selection.

This mod is not a priority for me and I can't promise any new features.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
