About this mod Machine translation
The last result, alternates merchant hopping by letting you convert items directly into their market value in gold.
Overview
Today, on my late game mage Aubernathy, my patience ran out. Jumping between two fences, selling 2-3 high value potions at a time, investing in every business in Skyrim, and still depleting their gold supply in a matter of seconds with Rich Merchants only cutting into my profits, I decided something needed to be done. Doing this will make gold mining for later loot easier and more convenient.
The Philosopher's Stone grew out of this desire. When you defeat the Ebony Warrior, he will be carrying this item. While it's in your inventory, you gain the Philosopher's Aurification ability. This level-changing spell allows you to utilize Stone to instantly convert any item in your inventory to 90% of its market value, without the need for a merchant.
Some notes about the stone:
Enchantments and quenching do not increase its value. Only the value of the underlying item is considered. This is due to engine limitations.
You can convert anything, and converted items are permanently lost. Be careful what you put in it. I am not responsible for lost artifacts.
With high voice and powerful barter boosts, selling items will still bring you more profit. Incentives sacrifice profits for convenience.
The base value of a crafted potion is the value listed in your inventory. A potion worth 1000 gold will be converted into 900 gold.
The Philosopher's Stone can create a pile of gold ore on demand if you transmute the stone itself! Give it a try! However, you may want to save first.
notes
Can I install this mod mid-save? I have slain the ebony warrior.
Yes! If you have killed the Ebony Warrior and you have not received one yet, the stone will be added to your inventory when your mod initializes.
Where is the container for the stones?
It is located behind the gates of the Great Porch in Dragonsreach. You need the console to reach it.
What does the Transmutation Stone actually do?

Overview
Today, on my lategame mage, Aubernathy, my patience ran out. Between hopping between fences to sell 2-3 high-value potions at a time, investing in every business in Skyrim and still exhausting their gold supplies in seconds, and Rich Merchants making little more than a dent in my profits, I decided something needed to be done to make the gold floods that are lategame loot runs easier and more convenient.
The Philosopher's Stone stemmed from that desire. When you defeat the Ebony Warrior, he will be carrying the item. While it's in your inventory, you gain the Philosopher's Aurification ability. This Master-level Alteration spell allows you to utilize the Stone to transform any item in your inventory to 90% of its market value instantly, on the spot, without needing a merchant.
There are a few things to note about the Stone:
Enchantments and tempering don't add to its value. Only the base item's value is considered. This is because of an engine limitation.
You can transmute anything and transmuted items are permanently lost. Be careful what you put in. I'm not liable for lost artifacts.
Selling items is still going to get you more profit with high Speech and powerful barter boosts. Aurifying sacrifices profit for convenience.
Crafted potions' base value is what's listed as their value in your inventory. A potion worth 1,000 gold will transmute to 900 gold.
The Philosopher's Stone can create a bunch of gold ore on demand if you transmute the stone itself! Try it! You might want to save first, though.
Notes
Can I install this mod mid-save? I already killed the Ebony Warrior.
Yep! The Stone will be added to your inventory when the mod initializes if you've already killed the Ebony Warrior and you haven't received one already.
Where is the container used for the Stone?
It's behind the door to the Great Porch in Dragonsreach. You need console to reach it.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
