I just converted the mesh and saved the esp in Creation Kit. I've replaced the main mod's textures with the optional high-resolution textures available on the mod page, also including their first-person fixes. I'm a newbie and my only experience with modding is converting oldrim mods to SE so I won't be able to fix any of the issues you have. It runs very well on my heavy Skyrim, so there should be no issues.
