AE/SE/VR mod Navigating Skyrim's lighting limitations, lights will flicker as you move and look around. Also provides a slight FPS boost.

Anti-flicker is not a fix, it is a job to help reduce issues related to game engine lighting issues that can cause lights to flicker if too many lights are active in the same place at the same time.

I also got a slight FPS boost using this mode.

It does this by turning off a large number of normal light sources, which means that the lighting limitations of Skyrim SE, AE and VR engines have more breathing room before reaching the maximum and causing the lights to flicker.

It creates a dark baseline in a normal game, and then the light modules reactivate, leaving anything not needed still off. The result is fewer fake vanilla lights and thus less light flicker.

This is a hard-line approach, not a solution, but it works for many people and attracts a lot of negative attention. Give it a try, depending on what other mods you use, if it helps your game that's great, if not, don't worry, some mod wizards are looking for ways around game engine limitations. Until then, this model might help.

I do not recommend using this module on a normal setup, it is intended for use with the lighting module.

In VR, I personally use Claralux, lux, Embers XD, TruTorches, Reshade, ENB, DLAA and my carry-on mods and get more fps and a 99% flicker-free experience.... Your mileage may vary, although this mod has helped many people achieve very similar results in SE and AE.

This ESP is labeled ESM. Manually load your module manager. Following Skyrim (VR). esm and previous (if applicable) unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch. In particular, this will be around slot 5 or 6 depending on your version of Skyrim - AE, SE or VR.

I wouldn't recommend you put this further back.

Equipment Magic Cards and Atmosphere both emphasize lighting limitations and can cause flickering issues, so consider this a free mod.
