Packrat’s Dream – Weightless items plus better assortment

by Keres Devine·v1.2·Updated 2018-12-11

This mod makes all consumables, crafting materials, books, and everything the pack likes to carry around weightless in bulk. Additionally, it renames these items for better classification. This is still a work in progress, so if I've missed anything please let me know ;-)

About this mod Machine translation

This mod makes all consumables, crafting materials, books, and everything the pack likes to carry around weightless in bulk. Additionally, it renames these items for better classification. This is still a work in progress, so if I've missed anything please let me know ;-)

There are several mods for weightless items, and some rename items for better ordering, but since they modify the same items, they are incompatible. This mod aims to solve this problem by combining the two.

As of version 1.1, I've also added HF to any project that can be used in Hearthfire productions. They are all supposed to be lightweight (most were already weightless in version 1.0, but I missed a few). I decided not to rename things like ingots, gems and ingredients using HF tags even though they can be used in HF crafting as well as vanilla crafting. Please feel free to let me know what you think about this.

I also added an option to turn 1 dwarven scrap metal into 2 dwarven ingots. It feels weird not being able to do this because they are so big. However, you can use it in Hearthfire to create Dwarf Spiders or Sphere Trophy. To maintain consistency with other dwarf raw materials, I added HF at the end instead of at the front like other HF projects.

If you can think of something similar that you'd like me to add, please get in touch.

This is still a work in progress, so if I've missed anything or you think things could be improved, please let me know. The more specific you have about your situation, the easier it will be to fix. ;-)

Note that there doesn't seem to be a way to rename the crafted potions in the same way as found (at least that I know of, please let me know if I'm wrong).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
