About this mod Machine translation
It's just a simple mode that allows you to switch between different body, foot, hand and face paints. As well as switching between different skin tones, hair colors/styles and armor. Optional effects can be played during the transition between any two groups.
The first and perhaps only God-given pattern:
Similar to how you transform into a werewolf or vampire, this mod allows you to create your own "alternative self" by first designing them in RaceMenu and then saving them as templates. You can then switch between these "templates" using hotkeys.
Currently you can save:
Hairstyle/Color
Beard style/color
Eyebrow style/color
eye color
color
Any body, foot, hand or face texture
Any body, feet, hands or face alpha/tone.
any armor
(Optional) You can apply effects that should play when transitioning between any two templates.
You can also turn on/off any of your currently applied body, foot, hand or face textures by simply pressing a hotkey (defined in the MCM but defaulting to [Home] and [End] respectively). Your overlay will then fade in/out over a period of time that you define (again set in MCM).
Currently this mod is hardcoded to only allow up to 3 saved templates.
-----
Some tips on how to set up overlays/templates:
Create your character as you normally would after starting the game.
Open the MCM and select "Save Overlay 1" (optional then select "Save Armor 1")
Open a console and type 'showracemenu'
Adjust anything from the list above to create a "secondary" character.
Open MCM and select "Save Overlay 2" (optionally "Save Armor 2")
Press [Next Override Key]
Wait a moment (you should see your body color fade away and fade away)
Press [Previous Override Key]
Your character should have the skin tone, body paint, etc. you defined in Overlay 1, and you can choose to equip whatever items you saved under that template.
-----
MCM menu description:
Fade duration:
It controls the time (in seconds) it takes for any given overlay to completely disappear when transitioning between templates.
Staggered fade delay:
This controls how long the first overlay starts to fade before the second overlay starts to fade away, how long before the second overlay starts to fade away before the third starts to fade away, etc...
Step delay:
How long it takes before the overlay is updated. If you notice that your computer is lagging during conversion, you can try setting it to a higher number. It will make the conversion feel a little wonky, but it should make the script slightly less demanding. The lower the number, the smoother the transition will feel.
Overlay enabled:
This simply indicates whether the overlay you set for the current template is turned on. You can toggle this setting by pressing the hotkey defined by [Key Override Enabled] / [Key Override Disabled].
Current overlay:
This will only tell you which template is currently set as the primary template. Press [Next Override Key] and/or [Previous Override Key] to cycle through the templates.
Enable override keys/disable override keys:
What key would you like to press to hide/show all your current body, foot, hand and face paint? [Default is Home/End]
Next stack key/previous stack key:
What key do you want to press to cycle through the current template? If you are currently in Overlay #3 and press [Next Overlay Key], you will transition to Overlay #1. Also if you are currently on Overlay #1 and press [Previous Overlay Key], you will transition to Overlay #3. (Default is [PageUp] / [PageDown]).
Restart:
Clear all saved templates and armor sets. If you encounter any major issues, you can use this feature to reset everything to its initial settings. You will also lose any changes you made to hotkeys and delay settings.
Save Overlay 1/2/3:
Save your current hair, skin and body paint and more...
Rescue Armor 1/2/3:
Saves any armor you currently have equipped with the specified template. When you move away from this template, please note that these armor items will be removed from your in …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
