Octagon Texture Batch Tool

Octagon is a texture batch processing tool that allows you to change format, size, compression, backup raw files, apply GMIC filters to large texture directories. Made specifically for SSE, it also works with F4, and any game that uses DDS as a texture format. Use this to reduce VRAM usage, or if you are a modder, use it to properly format texture packs.

This batch tool allows you to change all textures at once.

It can shrink textures, change format/compression, apply custom GMIC filters.

It also saves the original textures in a backup folder in case something goes wrong.

It should work with any game that uses DDS files as textures.

Depending on your needs, you may find Octagon useful for:

Reduce VRAM usage by reducing texture size, if you don't have enough or just want to get fps,

Reformatted and corrected textures for Oldrym ported mods,

Make texture packs of different sizes,

Apply custom filters to texture packs

You need these tools for Octagon

Texconv ​​and Texdiag (required)

Bsarch (optional, just need to unzip and repack the BSA archive)

Gmic (optional, only requires GMIC filter to be applied to texture) - Windows command line (CLI) version available.

Tip: GMIC is very time consuming. Try some texture before applying it on a larger scale as it may take overnight. Or two.
