About this mod Machine translation
Valiant Nords will travel to Sovngarde, while trapped characters will be sent to Soul Cairn upon death.
Provide AFTERLIFE to NPCs
describe
This mod adds follow-up effects to deceased NPCs. Currently, there are two:
- Nord warriors or Nords who show bravery in battle will end up in Surgnard upon death.
Characters with trapped souls will end up in Soul Cairn if their souls are successfully captured.
Sovngarde
Before Arduin's death, the Nords would huddle together in the fog. They will stay in one place to avoid being eaten.
After Alduin is defeated, they will move around. Some may even make it to the Halls of Courage.
Soul Kane
NPCs will travel back and forth in Soul Cairn. They will interact with their surroundings.
The MCM will display the current number of their respective subsequent NPCs. You can set a limit on how many NPCs there can be, limit entries to unique characters or remove all added NPCs.

notes
The default limit is set to 128 NPCs, but can go as high as 256. The 256 NPC limit is only recommended for high-end PCs.
Since Sovngarde is a small world space, having over 128 NPCs can make it a bit cramped.
NPCs are only calculated after MQ101 is completed, i.e. after you leave Helgen.
Installation/Compatibility
Since I have to edit the Soul Trap spell to determine if an NPC is trapped in a soul, move this mod on top of any mod that modifies the Soul Trap effect. Since most mods edit Soul Trap magic effects, not Soul Trap spells, this shouldn't conflict directly. Create a bashed patch for best results.
This mod is compatible with USLEEP as I've included bugfixes for it.

question
Killing an NPC immediately after loading into a zone may not trigger the quest alias. Head to this area to start over.
Killing multiple NPCs at once (especially when using the killall console command) may give inaccurate NPC counts.
Permissions
If you want to use any files from this mod, please let us know in PM.
You're welcome to port it to consoles as long as credit is given.
There is peace.

AFTERLIFE FOR NPCs
Description
This mod adds afterlives for deceased NPCs. Currently, there are two:
- Nord warriors or Nords who have shown bravery in combat will end up in Sovngarde upon death.
- Soul trapped characters will end up in the Soul Cairn if their soul is successfully captured.
Sovngarde
Pre-Alduin's demise, Nords will huddle together in the mist. They will stay in one place to avoid being eaten.
After Alduin is defeated, they will move about. Some might even gain entry in the Hall of Valor.
Soul Cairn
NPCs will travel to and fro in the Soul Cairn. They will interact with their surroundings.
A MCM will show the current number of NPCs in their respective afterlives. You can set a limit on how many NPCs there can be, restrict entry to unique characters or delete all added NPCs.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
