Make Mods compatible with VHR-Vanilla Hair Replacer via patch in Files section:
Nobenberg NPC in Whiterun
Forrest of Northbourne NPC
Worth noting - I didn't add VHR's hair on these NPCs because I didn't want to ruin Southpawe's intentions for their design. Instead, I edited the esps/facegen to trick the game into thinking the headsparts of the two mods match. In addition to making them VHR compatible, I've also added various fixes/consistencies to facegen meshes. They are as follows:
SUEMR - Various goggles.
ENB eyebrow repair
ENB scar repair
Also forwarded some very important USKP fixes that don't require it to be added as a master.
These additional fixes are not necessary and can provide negative results even when ENB is not used. However, if you are using the Northbourne Overhaul, you are using a high polygon mesh - which leads me to believe ENB is OK. Patching these is a lot of tedious work anyway, so I'm patching them for my own games, so if it doesn't work for your setup, don't ask me to get you a set. On the other hand, if you find any bugs with specific NPCs, please let me know as I may have missed a comb-over.
The following mod patches general consistency fixes, but not for VHR (because it doesn't need it - doesn't use vanilla fur):
Nobenberg NPC in Riverwood
Make sure to load these files after the original Northbourne mod. Obviously, you'll still need all of these tools for them to work - they're only there to fix blackface bugs and provide consistency with other recent mesh fixes.
Please send your way of acknowledging Southpawe. These NPCs are very well done. I even used some of the NPCs that Bijin replaced (not because they were high poly as I had converted them to high poly.) but because they were so good.
Again, if you encounter any problems, please let me know. I traveled to all the towns and didn't see any blackface - certainly no CTD. But something may have slipped through the cracks. Likewise, if an NPC's eyes or other objects don't look right, there's a chance you'll have a typo when you run through all of them like I did.
I think everyone is familiar enough with the blackface bug by now that I don't need to post before/after the image, so I'll just post after. I also highly recommend using the new Authentic Eyes and Northborn Scars for these meshes. This is what I use in my own setup (using some custom normals for some Northborns scars, which are a bit...deep) and I feel they give the most realistic results when paired with most ENBs.
Thanks again to Southpawe for the excellent Northbourne NPC series.

A compendium of patches, mostly making Southpawe's various Northbourne NPC mods compatible with preeum's VHR - Vanilla Hair Replacer.
Mods made compatible with VHR - Vanilla Hair Replacer via the patches in the Files section:
Northbourne NPCs of Whiterun
Northbourne NPCs of Falkreath
It is worth noting - I did not add VHR's hair onto these NPCs, because I did not want to ruin Southpawe's intent with their design. I have instead edited the esps / facegen to trick the game into thinking the two mods headsparts match. ENB Scar Fix

These additional fixes are not necessary, and can even provide negative results when not using an ENB. However, if you are using Northbourne's overhauls, you are using a high poly mesh -- which leads me to believe an ENB is in order. Regardless, it's a terrible amount of tedium requ …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
