Nordic Legend Fusion - Snow Throat Stone
describe
The Snow Throat is a large cavern beneath the Throat of the World. A place of Norse legend, Stone was once the entrance to Shor's journey between Nirn and Sovngarde.
The cave doesn't have much in the way of facilities or storage, but it has more character: it contains a portal to Sovngarde. To prevent game-breaking, the caves can only be entered after you've visited Sovngarde in the standard way: on the central mountain, stuck on the word wall, you'll find an ancient dragon's claw, which will open the way for you when you return to the waking world. You may wish to complete your business in Sovngarde before entering the portal. Additionally, there's a reward for defeating the World Eater: when you read the tablet on top of the central pillar, Shore will give you a useful blessing. Finally, there is a Shor next to the cave entrance, a copy of Son of Shor for your collection.
Snowmaw was conceived out of frustration with Bethesda's inability to properly implement its own lore. TES V leaves the Nordic culture as Morrowind knew it in absolute chaos: specifically the Norse pantheon. Snowthroat Stone is my attempt to correct this. The stones of Skyrim Tower may not be typical of caves, so this is just my interpretation of MK's words on the subject.
Regardless of the normative nature, make sure to be as friendly as possible. Every placed object has a story or purpose. My goal is to provide a seamless experience with all my mods, so I hope this translates to your gameplay.
Technical details and future updates
The Stone is a replica of the Shadowgreen Cavern world space that has been completely taken apart, pieced together and overhauled. The LOD should be no problem since the cave isn't that big, but if something happens please let me know.
The lighting inside the cave is very bright; this is a result of using lighting templates. If it's too much for you, feel free to jump into CK yourself and make your own lighting template. This is 5 minutes.
As for the future: Due to the lack of facilities, the cave is highly unsuitable for use as a family home. I might create an optional version with a small campsite in there so you can use it to store your stuff too. In any case, world space and all related cells are set to not reset, so if you add your own objects, your container will be safe.
Install
Install via the mod management tool of your choice. I recommend ModOrganizer 2.
If you have to install it manually, just put the corresponding files into the Skyrim data folder.
uninstall
For MO2 users, unmodify the mod from the left panel, or delete it entirely.
For manual users, just delete the .esp file and DolKhazun folder from \Data\Meshes.
compatibility
Any mod that changes the same external area as Stone will be incompatible. The central hills of Sovngarde are a popular place to add portals between Sovngarde and Skyrim, so make sure you're not using something else similar.
Known issues or bugs
A save loaded into the cave teleports the player to Riverwood's Sleeping Giant Inn. I don't know what causes it. If anyone with experience using Worldspaces knows what's going on, please drop me a line or leave a comment.
If you have completed the main quest and left Sovngarde, simply add the Claw to your inventory via the console. Help "Ancient Dragon Claw"
If you find any serious glitches that you definitely have with this mod, please let me know in the posts section so I can fix them immediately.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
