About this mod Machine translation
The visor that makes the Nightingale Hood reversible for those who want to use it both ways.
This is one of the few mods and experiments I've come up with while playing a game that's polished enough that it doesn't break horribly if you use it incorrectly, which means I can upload it to! I want to be able to switch out the Nightingale Hat mask, but I don't want to have two separate items clogging up my inventory. Also, if I hate anything besides inventory management, it's managing a billion hotkeys (just these two, but you get the idea.) So I wrote a script to do it for me.
For M A X I M U M E A S E I definitely recommend using this feature with Better Message Box Controls. Why aren't you using it yet? Go download it now and screw this mod.

How it works:
When equipping the hood, a message box will appear asking if you want to equip the visor. When unequipped, the mask will also disappear. If you hotkey it and unequip it outside of the menu, you will get additional options to equip/unequip the mask. By default, NPCs are always equipped with masks. Cool right?
If you have the Nightingale Hood with you when installing, put it down and pick it up before use. Otherwise it won't work properly.
It might depend on your FPS and Papyrus speed if you equip and unequip it really fast, but the worst that can happen is that the message box doesn't pop up and you end up with just the hood and no mask. As far as I've tested, the mask never gets stuck on you or any character. If so, please feel free to leave a strongly worded bug report and we will investigate it.
Should be compatible with anything that won't edit Nightingale Hood tables in CK.
It won't be confused with the unplayable version of the hood or vanilla mesh, so Brynjolf and Karliah should have normal items with masks built into them.

For M A X I M U M E A S E I'd absolutely recommend using this with Better Message Box Controls. Why the hell aren't you using it already, anyway? Go download it now, screw this mod.
How it works:
When you equip the hood, you'll get a message box asking whether or not you want to equip the mask. When you unequip it, the mask will go as well. If you hotkey it and unequip it outside of a menu, you get the additional option to equip/unequip the mask. NPCs will always equip the mask by default. Cool, eh?
If you already have the Nightingale Hood with you when you install this, PLEASE drop it and pick it up before trying to use this. It won't work otherwise.
There may be some jank depending on your FPS and Papyrus speed if you equip and unequip it REALLY fast, but the worst that can happen is the message box not popping up and you end up with just the hood and no mask. As far as I've tested the mask should never get stuck on you or any character. If it does, feel free to leave a strongly worded bug report and I'll look into it.
Should be compatible with anything that doesn't edit the Nightingale Hood forms in the CK.
It doesn't mess with the unplayable versions of the hood or the vanilla meshes, so Brynjolf and Karliah should have the normal thing with the mask built in.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
