A true necromancer requires an armor befitting his evil mind, crafted from pure ebony metal in horrific shapes, embellished with fabric decorated with dark arcane calligraphy, and imbued with magic so powerful that anyone who wears the robes of a necromancer will cause the soul mountains of its inhabitants to tremble.

Its enchantment is similar to that of the Archmage's Robes, minus the restoration bonus, offset by the higher conjugate bonus. In addition, they are armored robes that provide protection. It is classified as light armor, its weight being somewhere between glass breastplates, dragon scales and its defenses. Alternatively, ebony ingots can be used to improve it. It exists as the antithesis of Archmage's Robes and Path of Righteousness, making it a viable option for darker characters. His greater defense is intended to compensate for the Necromancer's fighting style, which targets more than just destruction spells.

The only one available in the game belongs to Malyn Varen and is therefore still inside Ilinalta's Deep, next to the skeleton of its former owner. These unisex robes combine well with other ebony pieces so they work well with helmets, gloves and ebony boots.
