About this mod Machine translation
Health, magic, stamina, and carry weight will grow naturally based on your play style and are not affected by level or skill. However, severe injury or even just the passage of time can cause them to decay.
This is a port of Oldrim's natural character growth and decay model, which causes your health, magic and stamina to increase as they are damaged/drained, originally created by Greywander and Uoud and ported to Skyrim Special Edition by me.
Natural Personality Growth and Decay
==================================
*What's new in 2.0*
==============
The entire Decay system has been redone and I'm very happy with the results. Under the new system, decay only occurs over a period of time, resulting in your attribute gains being reduced by 1% after a specified number of in-game hours. Since this depends on in-game time rather than real-time, this means that the decay will be affected by the timescale, and will also occur when resting or waiting. Decay is now also attribute specific, and attributes can be adjusted or disabled individually.
Taking over part of the old Decay system is the new stress and damage system. Breakpoints have been renamed Stress Limits. If a property falls below the pressure limit, you will start accumulating pressure on that property. Once you reach a certain amount, you will take damage, lowering your attributes. The effects of pressure damage can be severe; by default, health damage reduces your health by 5% (rounded) (not your total health), and 2% each of your magic, stamina, and carry weight.
To make matters worse, in the event of an injury, your stress doesn't drop to 0, but instead decreases by half, and if you don't address the cause of the stress, you risk re-injury. However, unlike Decay, which is an unstoppable force where you can only stay ahead, pressure can be defeated. After 24 hours of game time (adjustable), your stress will be reduced by 1%. If you go to sleep, your stress will be reduced by 8% (also adjustable) for every hour you rest (multiplicatively, not cumulatively). After 8 hours of sleep, your stress will be reduced by half!
When a stress injury occurs, an immersive notification pops up in the corner of the screen to let you know you've screwed up. There are three different messages for each type of pressure injury, one of which is chosen at random.
Also new is that you can choose whether to allow attributes to grow when you drop below the pressure limit. Previously, you would not gain attribute XP when below breakpoint/stress limit. Now you have a choice about this.
In terms of growth, not much has changed. By default, health should be slightly increased, but you may have this changed if you wish.
If you've already used NCGD, you'll probably stick with an older version or start a new game. If you must update, be sure to clear save first.
NOTE: v2.1 removes debug messages when sleep is initiated. You thought I would catch that. D'Oh!
The stress decay formula has also been modified to round up, ensuring that at least one stress point is always lost with each decay, even at very low pressures. Since the pressure decay is only down by 1% with no rounding, you probably won't lose any points otherwise with pressures below 100.

Tired of having to choose which attribute to increase to a level? Afraid you might choose poorly and be stuck in a role that wasn't built for your job What do you need them to do? Want a more immersive experience where your attributes increase based on how you play rather than arbitrary choices?
Natural Character Growth and Decay take the burden off you by allowing your attributes to automatically grow (and decay!) based on how you play the game. This is completely independent of skills and levels (for now, future versions may include more options!), so your attributes will adapt to whatever playstyle you choose.
Credit goes to Uoud, the creator of this mod based on the attribute leveling used and this one is based on. …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
