Tired of piles of low-level potions/poisons/soul gems cluttering your high-level inventory? Use the mysterious condenser to combine them into higher level counterparts.

The original Skyrim version can be found here!

Many thanks to Soul Mystique for the showcase video!

I don't know about you, but I hate it when my high-level character keeps finding low-level potions and poisons in chests, houses, dungeons, dragon's blood, etc. When your HP exceeds 300, the medicine heals for 25 points which is useless. Likewise, weak poison is useless against giants and dragons. What can you do with them? Take them home and fill your breasts with them? Sell them to the apothecary for a few coins? Just let them lie around? And the soul gem? Why keep all those little filled soul gems when all you want is grand items when you can enchant your items to higher quality?

Well, now you have another option.

The Mystic Condenser can combine 2 or more potions/poisons/filled soul gems of the same type into 1 or more of their superior counterparts without losing efficacy. For example, 3 standard healing potions (each restoring 50 health points) will condense into 2 rich healing potions (each restoring 75 health points), while retaining 150 health points while losing 0.5 pounds of weight (and worth a few more separators).

Mystic Condenser works on all standard potions/poisons/soul gems in the game. It does not apply to player brewed potions and poisons. Additionally, the level of potions or poisons that can be condensed depends on the player's level. If your potion level is not high enough for the potion or poison to appear on the standard leveling list, the recipe will not appear on the menu. Also, if you don't have enough potions/poisons/soul gems to concentrate, the recipe won't appear on the menu. This is to not fill the menu with gray items (there are currently 199 different combinations).

Where can I find these great devices? They are located in the Jarl palace of each fort. They can usually be found in each court wizard's workspace, so if you don't find one immediately upon entering the palace, you may need to do some searching (I'm looking at you, Palace of Kings!). They can also be found in the Archdemon Camp in the Academy of Winterhold, the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary (the Dawn Star Sanctuary can be purchased after purchasing the "Poison's Corner" upgrade), and the Ragged Flag's Flagon Cache.

What is that? Don't you want to keep going back to the Jarl to use the condenser? Well, if you have the ingredients, you can craft the Mystic Condenser Token, which allows you to place the Mystic Condenser wherever you want. To do this, save your game first. Just in case you end up placing the condenser in the wrong location. Second, click to "Equip" the token. Don't throw it away. You have to click on it, like a piece of armor or a weapon. This will place the condenser in front of where you are standing, facing you. If you don't like where it appears, reload the saved file, reposition yourself, and try again.

Available DLC content

The Dawnguard DLC adds condensers to both Fort Dawnguard and Volkihar Castle.

The Hearthfire DLC adds condensers to all 8 player houses.

The Dragonborn DLC adds condensers to multiple locations around Solstheim.

What are the new features in version 2.0?

Animation - Like all other production stations, animation is now done using the Mystic Condenser.

MCM menu (requires SkyUI) to control retention of options...

Automatic Condensation - When the Mystic Condenser is activated, it will automatically condense all healing potions/magic potions/stamina potions, all soul soul gems, and also merge all soul gem fragments into black soul gems. If you don't want this to happen, just deselect the option in the MCM menu.

More Mysterious Condenser Locations - I've placed more Condensers in various dungeons around the world. No, I won't say where.

New in 2.2! Added recipe for Condensed Frost Venom.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
