About this mod Machine translation

On April 14, 2018, my beloved dog Murphy passed away. I made this mod to immortalize him so everyone can know his name.

On April 14, 2018, my beloved dog Murphy passed away. Once I was able to collect myself later that same day, I started doing the things I knew I needed to do. I need to immortalize him, and the only way I know is: through Skyrim modding.

I haven't stopped since then and I won't stop until everyone knows his name. This is the least he deserves.

His name is Murphy. He is here for you now because He has always been there for me.

Place:

You'll be able to find him in Whiterun, wandering around the market (or inside the Bannered Mare at night). There was no requirement to make him a follower. Just ask him to follow and he is yours. However, I may add a quest at some point in the (probably far) future to make it more immersive.

------------------------

feature:

He is a loyal companion - he will follow you to Sovngarde and back. He is no warrior and will flee from a fight, but he will return when it is safe and make up for it in other ways.

He is safe - weapons will pass through him and magic won't even burn his fur. He cannot and will not be harmed. I wouldn't bring my dog back to life just for him to be killed by some bandits.

He is unique - depending on the weather conditions, he will provide players with various magical effects to help and guide them. This is based on the idea I mentioned in the introduction, because I feel like he's in the sun and so on. The effects themselves are a work in progress and will be improved and more effects added daily (see the "To Do" list).

The current impact is as follows:

Clear skies and warm sunlight will increase healthy regeneration.

Cloudy skies will increase magic regeneration.

Rainy weather increases stamina regeneration.

Foggy weather is supposed to improve stealth skills, but this doesn't currently work, I may change this effect in the future anyway.

The snowy weather is currently doing nothing. This is not permanent. In the future, I plan to add customization specifically for this weather (see "To Do" list for details).

Other features:

Remote Wait/Follow Power: Use this to tell Murphy to wait or follow you, no matter how far away he is.

Summoning Spell: As the name suggests, this spell will allow you to summon Murphy to you from anywhere (you can actually bring him to Thorngard now).

More features and updates are planned, some coming soon! See the "To Do" list.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
