About this mod Machine translation

A small mod that changes the prices of alcoholic beverages, meat, and cooked food.

Let's face it, most of Skyrim's economy doesn't make any sense. Let's use food as an example: When you cook or bake, sometimes you use rare ingredients and actually lose money. So I set out to correct this annoying situation.

This mod operates on the assumption that food in Skyrim is not very plentiful, and most normal people eat bread and cheese for dinner. Upscale items like wine, meats, stews, and baked goods are out of reach for many people, so it makes sense that they would be more expensive. My mod increases the price of meat and charcuterie to three times the price in the vanilla game, and doubles the price of all alcohol, with slight variations within reason. I've also slightly increased the prices on items that aren't localized (such as any Dragonborn items). If you are importing goods, you have to pay a premium just like in real life.

A side benefit of this mod is that you can make a small profit while cooking and selling stuff. This is great for anyone who wants to play a beer or baker role or has too many apples and flour bags in their inventory.

compatibility

This mod doesn't do anything other than change the price, so it's compatible with most things. I tested with Ineed and it works fine even when loading it on top. Apparently it will be compatible with other mods that change food prices. If you have questions about other mods, please continue testing. I'll be happy to host patches for any conflicting mods. I will not create other versions of this mod as other mods already exist for Oldrim.

This mod can be easily incorporated into your WyreBash patch. It does not contain scripts.

Require

This mod requires an unofficial patch for SSE. I won't make a version without that mod because... I'm lazy. Also, why don't you still want to use that mod? It would be silly to play without it.

Installation is very simple, just place it in the Data folder.

Let's face it, much of Skyrim's economy doesn't make any sense.  Let's use food as an example: when you cook or bake, sometimes with rare ingredients, you actually lose money. So I've set out to remedy that annoying situation.

This mod operates under the assumption that food in Skyrim is not very abundant, and most common folks eat bread and cheese for dinner. Fancy items such as wine, meats, stews and baked goods are out of reach for many, so it makes sense that they would be a bit more expensive. My mod raises the price of meat and cooked items to around three times the price they are in the vanilla game, and raises the price of all alcohol by double, with some slight variation when it made sense. I have also raised prices slightly for items that aren't localized, such as any of the Dragonborn items. If you want imported goods, you'll have to pay a premium, just like in real life.

A side benefit to this mod is that you can make a small profit when you cook things and sell them. This is nice for people that want to role play being a brewer or baker or just have too many apples and bags of flour in their inventory.

Compatibility

This mod  doesn't do anything other than change prices, so it's compatible with most everything. I tested it with Ineed and it worked just fine, even when it was loaded on the top. It will not be compatible with other mods that change the prices of food, obviously. If you have questions about other mods, go ahead and test it out. I am happy to host patches for any mods that conflict. I will not create other versions of this mod, as there are already other mods that exist for Oldrim.

This mod can easily be merged into your WyreBash patch. It contains no scripts.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
