About this mod Machine translation

The Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) of Moon Story Special Edition, as a replacement for the "Ancient Ring".

Overview

This is a Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) designed to replace the somewhat clunky menu accessed through the "Ancient Ring" in Moonlight Tales. It won't remove the Ancient Ring, but it will make it obsolete, making the Moonlight Tales setting easier to navigate and change. (Update: Version 0.2 added an option to remove the Ancient Ring in the Tools menu, but it will be re-granted if Moonlight Tales is reinitialized.)

I tried to keep the overall structure of the original menu consistent, but I did add a few features like customizable moon transition probabilities.

Install

Unzip to your Data folder, or install using the mod manager. I'm not using any assets from the vanilla game or Moonlight Tales, so it shouldn't overwrite anything.

Special instructions

SKSE64 and SkyUI are currently in beta, so some bugs may be inherited from these mods, but you can always report any bugs you find. Please resolve any Moonlight Tales bugs to this mod page; I only did the menu.

SkyUI may take a minute to register the menu after installation. The menu may be blank until Moonlight Tales itself initializes, your character must be outdoors.

This MCM expects "Moonlight Tales Special Edition.esp" to be in your load order and will not work without it. If for some reason you change the name of the plugin or merge it with another mod, you can edit the MTSE_MCMScript.psc file, change the "pluginName" value in the variable list to the name of the modified or merged file, and recompile. This may still not work if many form IDs are changed.

integral

Many thanks to schlangster and the SkyUI team for their hard work, great mod and rich documentation.

Thanks to Brevi and for filming Moonlight Tales, this is a must-have mod for my werewolf game.

Mods and scripts edited using Creation Kit and Notepad++.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
